Jurassic World – The Ride, inspired by the Blockbuster franchise, is the latest attraction to be joining the exciting line-up at Universal Studios Hollywood. “The mega attraction will fuse 21st century technology and astounding special effects with new dinosaurs from the Jurassic World film”, according to a recent Universal press release.
The new ride is being reimagined from the previous Jurassic Park attraction, which closed in September 2018. When it re-opens this summer, new life will have been breathed into the current animatronic dinosaurs, who will also have been joined by some new faces from the latest films. The overhaul is being supervised by the creative mind at Universal, Lucasfilm and even acclaimed filmmakers Steven Spielberg, Colin Trevorrow and Frank Marshall.
An epic new storyline set within the Jurassic World Theme Park seen in the films was conceived for the new ride, which will also see brand new technology which has never before been seen within a theme park. Specially designed rafts will guide guests through the lush vegetation of Jurassic World as riders spot friendly dinosaurs before things inevitably take a nasty turn! Besieged by deadly velociraptors and dilophosaurus, riders are forced to plunge 84 feet down a waterfall as the only means of escape.
In addition to the re-imagined attraction, a new Raptor Encounter will be opening at the park, where guests can come face to face with ‘friendly’ and ‘trained’ raptors from the films. Let’s see how well trained they are when you stop to pose for a photo! There will also be a Dino Play area, which will incorporate educational aspects into a fun play area where children can excavate dinosaur bones and investigate fossils.
