We recently told you about Disney Pixar’s soon to be released film Brave, set in the highlands of Scotland about a strong-willed princess named Merida. The masterpiece will make its way to more than seventy cinemas, showcasing the wonderful and mystic lands of Scotland to viewers. "This is an incredible opportunity to extend the reach of VisitScotland’s marketing activity across the world," Visit Scotland’s chairman Mike Cantlay said.
It would appear that this touching, mysterious 3D fairytale not only moves us with its magical storytelling, but allows our minds to escape to Scotland, with spectacular visual portrayals of the destination. Brave will not only entertain us and transform us, but will enthuse us and the many viewers from across the world to visit Scotland, boosting its tourism. "There are very few tourism destinations that get to work so closely with the world’s largest entertainment companies — and this gives us an unprecedented opportunity to put Scotland on the worldwide stage with a whole new audience." Mike Cantlay said.
"Brave takes its inspiration from the majesty and mystery of Scotland, and features the voices of many much-loved Scottish stars, so it’s fitting to create a global campaign with VisitScotland to further bring to life the iconic Scottish landscapes and folklore that inspired the film," said chief marketing officer for Walt Disney in Africa, Middle East And Europe Tricia Wilber.
However those of us with our Disney tickets who have our hearts set on heading to Florida, where the temperature is scorching and the theme parks are immense, may prefer to meet Princess Merida in person at Walt Disney World.
