The marvelous gingerbread construction was hand built on site using real gingerbread, created in the hotels kitchens. In total the hotels chefs spent just over 350 hours creating the gingerbread, assembling the house and decorating it. The house now stands proudly next to the hotel’s Duffy-decorated Christmas tree and it makes for a brilliant festive sight.
The Christmas gingerbread house tradition has been adopted from Walt Disney World in Florida, although the 16ft tall house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa this year dwarfs the one in Paris. Even if you’re not staying in the hotel, you can still get a peak at the inspiring creations with one of the many Disney tickets available.
