Disneyland Shanghai Expects 10million Visits in First Year
There were some interesting predictions for the currently in construction Disneyland Shanghai this week. An analysis by China’s International Academy of Tourism is predicting that, when open, the park may attract as many as 10 million visitors in its first year.

Work on the new Disneyland resort started in April 2011 but you won’t be able to get your hands on Disneyland tickets until it opens in late 2016. Size wise the park will cover an area of 963 acres, which is three times a large as Disneyland Hong Kong, and will be Disney’s 6th park.

The International Academy of Tourism got to the 10 million+ by looking at the local population along with current tourism figures. They see the construction of the park as being an excellent boost to the local economy, especially as Disney is well known for making brilliant theme parks.
