To mark the 20th anniversary of Steven Spielberg’s ET The Extra Terrestrial and the Blu-ray release, sculptors have been creating ET wax works that will be unveiled on the 22nd October in Madame Tussauds around the world!
Released twenty years ago, in 1982, Steven Spielberg’s ET The Extra-terrestrial debuted at number one around the world, smashing box office records to become the highest grossing film of its time. Since then the film has become a classic, adored by those that have watched Spielberg’s masterpiece and an absolute must see to the world.
To mark the film’s success and its 30th anniversary on the 22nd October six Madame Tussauds across the world will unveil a new addition to their wax work family – ET himself. A giant team of artists and sculptors are currently working on the creation of these six ET figures in the Merlin Studios in West London. The wax works will be on display in Hollywood, London, Berlin, Amsterdam, Sydney and Tokyo Madame Tussauds.
In celebration of ET’s 20th anniversary and Universal Studios one hundredth anniversary, the entertainment company recently released a digitally remastered anniversary edition on Blu-ray and DVD. Universal Studios have been releasing a number of their classic movies on Blu-ray and DVD in honour of their one hundredth birthday, whilst the theme park arm of one of the entertainment company has been celebrating their one hundred years with the launch of new and enhanced attractions at the park throughout the year.
