An amazing new theme park spanning 60,000 m² is set to roar into life at PortAventura next year! The Ferrari Land Park will be the first of its kind in Europe and it’s already shaping up to be something pretty spectacular. Offering a combination of family-friendly rides as well as a record-breaking attraction that will become the highest rollercoaster in Europe, this is a park you won’t want to miss. Now in its third phase of construction, there’s not long to wait until the grand opening. Here are all of the exciting details you need to know…
Set to be the most impressive ride at Ferrari Land, Vertical Accelerator will be like nothing you’ve seen before! This exhilarating attraction will be the standout ride, towering above the park at a staggering 112 metres tall. Not only will the Vertical Accelerator become the tallest ride in Europe, it will also become the fastest, reaching heart racing speeds of 0-180km in just 5 seconds. To put that into perspective, that’s around 111mph!
Designed to take you on a breath-taking journey where you’ll feel as though you’re a real F1 driver, the ride vehicles are all replica F1 cars in the perfect Ferrari-red shade. As soon as you enter the queue area, you’ll become immersed into the world of racing. Your adrenaline reaches fever pitch when you get to the bustling pit stop and realise that it’s time to get ready for the ride of your life. You’ll be catapulted across the track at up to 111mph before a vertical ascent takes you 112 metres into the air and sends you plummeting straight back down again. If you’re a thrill seeker, this star attraction is simply unmissable!
If you’re looking for something that the whole family can enjoy, Circuit invites you to indulge in a bit of friendly competition. Put yourselves to the test and see who’s got what it takes to be crowned the F1 champion. Get the ultimate adrenaline rush as you zoom around the track with your family cheering you on. See who can complete the 570 metre course in the fastest time as you battle against each other in a race to the finish line.
Bounce Back Towers:
This thrilling ride is all about the mechanisms of a Ferrari engine piston. Board the enormous model where the two stainless steel towers mirror each other, and experience what it’s like in those few seconds where a Ferrari bursts into life. Get ready to launch 55 metres into the air (that’s around the same as two basketball pitches stacked on top of each other!) and just when you think you’re safe, you’ll plunge straight back down again.
What else is there?
A famous restaurant called La Trattoria in Maranello will be recreated in the park. Often frequented by F1 drivers, this new take on the popular eatery will offer guests flavoursome dishes and fine, authentic Italian cuisine. You’ll even be able to take photos next to replicas of famous Italian landmarks like the Colosseum, the Campanile of San Marco and La Scala.
There will also be a shop designed to look like the Ferrari factory, where you’ll be able to pick up limited edition merchandise that can only be found in the park. If you’re looking for souvenirs, this is the place to come, as you’ll find exclusive branded memorabilia.
Back to the rides, there will be a total of 8 simulator attractions that will give guests the chance to experience the adventures of a real F1 driver for themselves. These attractions will be so realistic you’ll want to ride them over and over again! Two of the simulator attractions will be specifically for children, while the remaining six will be aimed at providing a fast-paced driving challenge for the adults.
