The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is set to open at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2016 and will come with a brand new twist that will set it apart from Orlando.
Since originally opening in Orlando back in 2010, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter has been enchanting theme park goers with its incredibly detailed recreation of the famous locations frequented by Harry, Ron and Hermione in the hit books and films. The original Hogsmeade area in Islands of Adventure was joined last summer by Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida, before Universal Studios Japan opened its very own Hogsmeade in the summer of 2014, and now it’s the turn of Universal Studios Hollywood to greet the boy wizard.
Official word from Universal this week has revealed that the new attraction is primed to open in Spring 2016 with what looks set to be a near carbon copy of the Hogsmeade area at Islands of Adventure at Universal Orladndo Resort, complete with Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey getting a 3D makeover as the signature attraction and Flight of the Hippogriff becoming the park’s first outdoor rollercoaster.
Of course it isn’t just the rides that make the area so authentic, guests will also be able to explore Hogsmeade Village and enjoy some of the famous locations from the stories, including the Three Broomsticks and the Hog’s Head pub, as well as carts selling the legendary Butter Beer.
We can’t wait to see this latest incarnation of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, but if it is even half as good as the one in Orlando then we’ll all be in for a real treat!
