LEGOLAND Florida and Orlando City Soccer Club announced a partnership yesterday that will help generate a further enthusiasm and interest in Soccer in Central Florida. As part of the partnership LEGOLAND Florida will participate in the Opening Ceremonies of the first home game, promoting soccer organisations across Central Florida. The joint venture will allow local Floridians new ways to interact with LEGOLAND Florida, without requiring LEGOLAND tickets.
Orlando City Soccer Club is a dominant professional sports franchise playing in the United Soccer League and has recently acquired a youth’s soccer academy, now titled Orlando City Soccer Youth Academy. “We are delighted to announce this partnership with LEGOLAND Florida. Their focus on family fun for young children is a perfect fit for our growing footprint in the youth soccer marketplace. I hope that many of our fans and young players will be visiting this exciting new Central Florida attraction,” said president of Orlando City Soccer Phil Rawlins.
The soccer team’s alliance with LEGOLAND Florida, the only major theme park in the theme park capital of the world that dedicates itself solely to children aged two to twelve, will help Orlando City to reach out and provide opportunities to kids at the Orlando City Youth Academy. The Youth Academy will develop soccer players from the age of five, offering the potential to see them all their way to a professional soccer career with the United Soccer League professional team.
The partnership provides the new theme park, LEGOLAND Florida, with an amazing platform to reach out to children and young families in the community. The relationship between the two organisations will offer LEGOLAND Florida vast advertising and promotional opportunities. Floridians can expect to see LEGOLAND Florida’s prsesence at community functions and at the Orlando City Youth Academy. Those with LEGOLAND Florida tickets might even see soccer camps being held at the LEGOLAND Florida park itself.
“With our joint focus on encouraging families with children to play their part and get involved in activities from the soccer pitch to the rides at LEGOLAND, partnering with Orlando City Soccer is an obvious choice for us,” said Adrian Jones, general manager of LEGOLAND Florida. “As Central Florida’s newest family theme park, we are thrilled to be partnering with Central Florida’s newest professional sports organization.”
