Where to go Black Friday Shopping in New York
Sharpen those elbows as it’s that time of year again
Black Friday is a big deal in the US as it falls the day after everyone spends the day relaxing at home for Thanksgiving and starts looking ahead to Christmas.

Although it has come to the UK in recent years, Black Friday is much more of an occasion in the states and definitely a great opportunity to find yourself a few great deals in the shops. Make the most of it, and see if you can bag some bargain Christmas presents at these Black Friday shopping locations in New York...

Woodbury Common

Woodbury Common

The premium outlet malls in America are stuffed full of bargains every day of the year, which makes a trip out there worthwhile on any day. But on Black Friday, the sales are ramped up to a whole other level, with as much as 60% off ticketed items in some of the stores! Considering the items in the Woodbury Common outlet mall are already traditionally reduced 25-50%, you would be hard pushed to not secure a great bargain on top brands and labels including Ralph Lauren, Timberland and Hugo Boss. Black Friday falls on the 27th November this year, and deals at Woodbury Common include 50% off selected styles at Sunglasses Hut, 30% off at Bebe and $69.99 watches at Skagen! Macy’s

Macy's

Black Friday kicks off early at Macy’s this year on err….Thursday. Savvy shoppers will be able to rush straight from their turkey dinners to the store for the 6pm kick off of Macy’s Black Friday sales! Doors will then remain open overnight, through Friday itself and even into Saturday morning with the store offering 30-75% off the normal item price. There are likely to be queues before opening, so arrive early if you want to be one of the first ones in!

Apple

Black Friday is the only day of the year when Apple give away significant discounts or moneyback offers on their products. Last year, Apple gave away $25-$100 iTunes gift cards with full-price purchases which, with the difference in price between the US and the UK making Apple products more affordable anyway, could be a great way to make further savings. It’s worth checking out authorised Apple sellers as well, as they often undercut the official Apple prices on this day, so you could get yourself a real bargain.

Plenty of other big name stores such as Bloomingdales and Old Navy will also be running Black Friday sales which they are keeping carefully under wraps for now. You can also expect to pick up a bargain at Ikea, JC Penney and Toys R Us if you’re willing to join the crowds queuing to get a piece of the best day of bargain shopping of the year.
