We all adore Disney World, but if there was just one thing we could change about the fairytale world, filled with magic, happy endings, dashing princes and beautiful princesses, it would have to be the queues. The queues are probably the only element of a Disney World visit that brings those of us with our Disney tickets back down to reality!
Well, the happiest place on earth has got that covered too! Soon, remnants of reality will longer linger at Disney World. Disney is working on project NextGen to make queuing at Disney World a thing of the past.
Imagine being able to book Character Meet and Greets and appointment times for your rides months before you’ve even travelled! “Guests will be able to reserve times for their favourite attractions and character interactions…secure seats at our shows and spectaculars…make dining reservations…and pre-book many other favourite guest experiences - all before even leaving their house," said Disney Walt Disney Parks and Resorts chairman Tom Staggs.
Rumour has it that project NextGen will bring about a free service called xPass that will enable us to book our rides, character meet and greets, and - wait for it...viewing spots for night time shows online when we pre-order our Disney tickets! The xPass will allow us to avoid long waits at restaurants by pre-ordering our food!
As you know, at ATD we are all about planning ahead for an Orlando holiday, so all the pre-ordering and planning may take away a small aspect of spontaneity, but no more queues at Disney World? We think it’s the perfect exchange!
Don’t worry – we’ll be the first to tell you when project NextGen is up and running!
Disney World with no queues? Now it really is the happiest place on Earth!
