In Depth Review of Universal's Cabana Bay

Orlando
Cabana Bay hotel
A full tour of Universal's popular family hotel!

Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort has traditionally been a firm favourite with British holidaymakers visiting Orlando. And after visiting the resort in September it’s easy to see why - it’s fun, themed and, best of all, really affordable!

We made this video which shows you just some of the fantastic features of this value level hotel at Universal Orlando Resort:

When deciding where to stay on your Orlando theme park holiday, it’s important to weigh up all your options, particularly if you are looking at the more budget end of the market. While it may be tempting to stay off-site if you are considering budget options, Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort is also a fantastic choice as it offers affordable room rates with loads of exclusive perks. In fact, rooms start from just over £100 per night* and include perks such as free resort transportation to the Universal theme parks, which will save you money on travel and parking, as well as early park admission to the Universal theme parks!

It’s not just the additional hotel benefits that draw people to this property though. The location of this hotel is also a really big plus point as well as it’s walking distance from Universal’s Volcano Bay, the newest water theme park in Orlando. If you’re travelling during the summer holidays this can be a great perk as it means you can get there early without having to get up at the crack of dawn. And, if you love a perfectly placed sun lounger as much as we do, you’ll know how important that is.

Universal’s Cabana Bay is themed on the fun of 1950’s America and it’s everything you’d expect - chintzy, colourful and FUN. It’s a hotel which is really designed with families in mind and it’s guaranteed to be a place that the whole family will love. The lobby is huge and brightly coloured, with lots of nods to the fun aspects of the heyday of 1950’s Americana.

Outside, there are two huge pools, so this is a perfect resort for a family with kids who love splashing about. There’s even a water slide and a lazy river so it’s an amazing place to chill out on the days when you’re not visiting the theme parks. It really is a really great family hotel for so many reasons.

But what’s a hotel without its rooms? The rooms at Cabana Bay are a mix of standard queen rooms with 2 beds and family suites with a little more space if you’re staying more than a few nights. The 1950’s themeing continues into the rooms, with brightly coloured suites and quirky features that will take you back in time. There are even rooms which look out onto Universal's Volcano Bay...just check out that view!

Outside of the rooms and the pool, there’s still so much for guests to enjoy at Universal’s Cabana Bay. Did you know for example that this hotel has it’s very own 10-pin bowling alley? Enjoy a game of bowling any night of the week until midnight without ever having to stray too far from your room. There’s also a fun games room for the kids and a gym for the big kids!

And when it comes to dining options, there are plenty of fun and easy options, including the Bayliner Diner, which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We ate breakfast here and can highly recommend the waffles - you're on holiday after all!
