The ‘hybrid’ element comes from the manufacturers, Rocky Mountain Construction, using a mixture of steel and wood to create this brand-new coaster, which is set to open after the brand-new Tigris attractions, which will be opening in spring this year.
When the new hybrid coaster opens in 2020, it will be North America’s tallest hybrid coaster and the fastest, steepest hybrid coaster in the world. The new attraction will be more than 200 feet tall and will even feature restored elements from the former roller coaster that stood in its place, Gwazi, to add a little nostalgia for you!
Busch Gardens is undoubtedly the thrill attraction leader in Florida, with two fantastic new roller coasters opening in the next two years. Ride cars are already being tested on the soon-to-be-opened Tigris coaster, which is due to open in Spring 2019. The 2 new attractions join thrill-attraction leaders like Falcon’s Fury, a free-fall drop tower standing at over 100m tall, SheiKra, an epic dive coaster featuring a 90-degree drop and Montu and Kumba, 2 of the park’s classic signature attractions.
