This brand-new expansion of the park promises to be a completely immersive experience that will transport guests into the world of the Na’vi people. As such, all the food and drink available within this area of the park has to be Pandora themed – not a Coca-Cola or Starbucks in sight! Yesterday, the Disney blog began to reveal a few photos of what they describe as the flavourful, ‘healthful’ diet of the Na’vi people…
Guests can enjoy wholesome, creative dishes like the one above: quinoa and vegetable salad, red onion and sweet potato hash and healthy kale or rice salad topped with wood-grilled chicken slow-roasted beef, sustainable fish or chili-spiced fried tofu. Definitely something a little different to what you’ll find elsewhere in your average theme park!
Another dish you might like to try is the steamed ‘pods’ (actually bao buns!) with cheeseburger or vegetable curry and served with crispy vegetable crisps and a crunchy vegetable slaw. All the dishes are beautifully colourful and out of the ordinary but, don’t worry, there’s plenty of choice.
Enjoy this extraordinary food in the Satu-li Canteen, which was once the Resources Development Administration base located in the Valley of Mo’ara but has since been taken over by the guys who will lead your expedition into Avatar world – the Alpha Centauri Expeditions (ACE). The room has been transformed into a beautiful canteen, with colourful Na’vi items like hand woven tapestries covering the walls and even hanging from the ceiling, so you’ll be enjoying your food in a lovely setting too.
Another new exciting feature of the restaurant is the debut of Mobile Order, a brand-new option on the My Disney Experience app. Mobile Order allows you to choose your food before you arrive at the restaurant, via the app, before alerting the restaurant of your arrival when you sit down at your table. As soon as you click ‘I’m here’, the chefs will start preparing your meal and you’ll receive a notification to go collect your food from a reserved window when it’s ready! It’s all very futuristic and fits in perfectly with the Pandora world.
