It’s a Great Year for Disney in the Orlando Awards!
Disney clean up...
Walt Disney World has swept the board this year, coming in top for best theme park, best new attraction AND overall best attraction. Find out which parks and attractions were the big winners this year…

Every year, in partnership with The Sun newspaper, we ask our customers to vote for their favourite parts of their Orlando theme park holiday – from their favourite theme park character, to the best live show and all the way up to best theme park. Lots of you registered your votes, and we’re finally able to reveal the winners…

Fireworks at Magic Kingdom

After a huge year last year for Universal Orlando Resort, Walt Disney World has regained its crown as the king of the Orlando theme parks for 2018! Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park won gold in the best theme park category, while Disney’s newest attraction, AVATAR Flight of Passage, scooped not only best new attraction but best overall attraction too! AVATAR Flight of Passage knocks family favourite Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts off the top spot, which shows just how fantastic this new ride really is.

Pandora World of Avatar

Meanwhile there were more awards for Disney, as Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon came in as your top-rated water park, with SeaWorld’s Aquatica being awarded second place. Mickey Mouse picked up the gong for the favourite theme park character for the second year running, and Fantasmic! At Disney’s Hollywood Studios won best live theme park show. Finally, your favourite dining experience was Be Our Guest at Magic Kingdom and the Kilimanjaro Safari at Disney's Animal Kingdom the best animal experience. Phew! We told you it was a big year for Disney…

Dudley Do Rights Ripshaw Fall

Universal Orlando Resort weren’t completely left out though – they scooped the top prize for best theme park soaking with Popeye and Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges at Universal’s Islands of Adventure and the 2nd prize in this category too for Dudley Do-Right’s Ripshaw Falls, also at IOA. They were also awarded most entertaining evening show for their Blue Man Group show, on nightly at Universal’s CityWalk. They scooped silver in 4 important categories – Best theme park, overall best attraction and favourite theme park as well, proving that our customers still love Universal Orlando Resort.

Kennedy Space Center

Kennedy Space Center came out unanimously as your top non-theme park attraction (great news for all of you that benefited from our Kennedy Space Center ‘On us’ offer for Black Friday!) while SeaWorld scooped runner up for best new attraction with Mako, favourite animal experience with Discovery Cove’s Dolphin Swim and for the One Ocean live show.

Look out for next year’s awards, launching autumn 2018, for your chance to vote on everything about your Orlando theme park holiday!
