Falcon's Fury Official Announcement
Let's start this article by saying Falcon's Fury is a typical Busch Gardens ride. It's thrilling, it's inspired by the movement of an antagonised animal, it's record breaking and it will raise the hairs on your neck! What particular record does this soon to be launched attraction break? Well, Falcon's Fury will be the tallest freefall vertical drop tower, not just in the theme park capital, but the entire North America. Not just by a fraction or so either. At 335 feet tall, Falon's Fury is considerably taller!
It gets better still. This is like no other drop tower you've ever experienced. Like most drop tower rides, you will be hauled to the top of the tower and like most drop tower rides, you will be left to freefall back down. However, unlike most drop tower rides, before you are left to plummet, your seats will pivot 90 degrees, leaving you to dangle - just so you can get a good clear view of the 300 feet that stands between you and the ground. Once a sufficient amount of fear, panic and anticipation has settled, you will be left to face your fears, soaring towards the ground that faces you at 60 miles per hour!
To clarify...
Tower height: 335 feet * Ride height: About 300 feet * Top speed: 60 mph *Angle of descent: 90 degrees *Planned opening date: Spring 2014!
