Universal’s revolutionary TapuTapu device is just one of the many things that make this park stand out from the rest! Unlike any other water park in the world, Volcano Bay will be a “water theme park”, combining ultimate thrills with tranquil relaxation experiences.
The TapuTapu wearable is a colourful wristband that is designed to “enhance fun and remove hassles”. The band is free of charge, and guests can choose which colour they’d like. Here’s our top pick of the 5 best features of Universal’s TapuTapu…
1. Virtual Lines
Universal introduced the concept of a virtual queuing system for the first time back in April, with the launch of new ride- Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon. What we love about Volcano Bay, is that visitors will be able to virtually wait in line for every single attraction! That’s right, not just one ride, but the entire park will offer a virtual line experience. With a simple tap of your wristband, you’ll be able to virtually wait in line for one ride at a time, whilst enjoying the other areas of the park. Get ready to say goodbye to long queues for good!
2. TapTu Pay
A visit to a water park can provide problems you wouldn’t usually encounter at a theme park, like getting your money wet when you take it out, or having to go back and forth to lockers to collect it. Well, now you don’t have to worry about it, thanks to TapTu Pay. This amazing feature enables you to make purchases throughout the entire park with just a tap of your wristband. Sounds pretty cool, right?
3. TapTu Play
This is one that both the kids and big kids will love! TapTu Play lets you trigger a series of special interactive effects throughout the park. All you have to do is tap the wristband and see what surprises await. Revealing secret messages in the Cave of Starlight and shooting water cannons at unsuspecting guests, are just some of the fun features. There will be special symbols across the park letting you know where you can use TapTu Play, so make sure you keep a look out.
4. Locker Access
Most water parks have lockers for you to keep your possessions safe, but isn’t it annoying trying to keep the key safe too? At Volcano Bay, there are no keys! You guessed it… all you have to do to open your locker is tap the TapuTapu band onto the sensor on the front. You won’t have to worry about losing your key again!
5. TapTu Snap
When visiting a water park, it’s not practical to bring a camera or mobile phone to take photos as you wouldn’t want to get them wet. At Volcano Bay though, you’ll still be able to go home with great pictures to remember your day thanks to TapuTu Snap. There are lots of interactive photo opportunities and selfie spots around the park, (including on some of the rides!) and your TapuTapu wearable will automatically link these photos to a free account, so that you can view, purchase and share them later on.
