1. Conquer the Incredible Hulk Coaster
This has to be at the top of our list as this is one of the most terrifying attractions at the Universal Orlando Resort. Don’t let that put you off though, as it’s also one of our favourites! This incredible roller coaster recently had an exciting makeover, introducing a new entrance, new queue experience, new ride vehicles and a brand new story.
This is not for the faint-hearted, so only serious thrill-seekers should face the Hulk. Prepare for a dramatic 150-foot launch, 7 inversions and speeds of up to 67mph! If you can build up the courage to brave this coaster you really should, as it’s a truly amazing ride. Definitely one to tick off your theme park bucket list!
2. Meet your favourite characters
There are lots of great photo opportunities in this colourful area, including character meet and greets with both the good guys and the bad guys. A visit to Universal Orlando Resort wouldn’t be complete until you’ve met the heroes from the Marvel universe. If you’re a big Spider-Man fan, make sure you get your photo taken with him in the Marvel Alterniverse Store- you can then get the picture turned into a comic book cover! You’ll also be able to see the superhero gang pull up in an incredible motorbike procession. Don’t miss it!
3. Experience the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man
This fantastic attraction is a must for any Marvel fan. You’ll actually feel as though you’re a real superhero as you embark on an epic adventure alongside your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. Put on a pair of 3D glasses and get ready to swing through the streets in a battle to track down the stolen Statue of Liberty! Prepare to scale skyscrapers, battle bad guys and even face a 400-foot freefall! The spectacular graphics and 3D/4D technology make this ride unmissable.
4. Explore Marvel Super Hero Island
As you can probably tell from the name, Marvel Super Hero Island is the place to go for all things superhero! With so many amazing things to see, it’s worth spending some time exploring the area to see what you can find. There are lots of interactive elements to enjoy too. If you see any phone boxes, make sure you pick up, because you never know who’s going to be on the other end of the line! There are also lots of secrets to look out for, like Daily Bugle newspaper machines, a Yancy Street sign and Adam Kubert’s signature. Look closely at the huge character drawings on the walls and see if you can spot the Marvel artist’s mark.
If you want to pick up some souvenirs to take home, there’s a comic book shop, Spider-Man shop and Marvel Alterniverse Store that’s packed with Marvel merchandise.
5. Dine with the Marvel Characters
Did you know, you can actually dine alongside some of your favourite Marvel characters at Café 4? This restaurant is in Marvel Super Hero Island at Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park. Get ready to dine with a difference, as a host of superheroes join you at the dinner table! You can expect to see the likes of Captain America, Spider-Man, Wolverine and Cyclops to name just a few. You’ll be able to enjoy tasty dishes like specialty pizzas, roasted rosemary lemon chicken and scampi, and you’ll even get a souvenir photo to take home.
