Orlando to Become a Green Tourist Destination

Orlando to Become a Green Tourist Destination
The Florida branch of the U.S. Green Building Council has recently announced a new drive; to get the area named as an environmentally friendly tourist destination.

The Green Destination Orlando organizers are aiming to create a sustainable environment for tourists and unlike Florida's Green Lodging Program, this program will cover more than just hotels. The project looks to get as many local businesses on board as possible including restaurants, shopping venues and theme parks, to really allow people to experience a green trip abroad. Some of the pioneers include Universal Orlando, Pointe Orlando, Rosen Shingle Creek, Discovery Cove and Peabody Orlando; some of which are accessible on one of the many Orlando tickets.

This new drive will hopefully have a dual benefit for the businesses that are signed up by increasing visitors and improving their green credentials.
