Construction work taking place next to The Simpson Ride at Universal Studios Orlando has fuelled rumours that Universal creatives are expanding The Simpsons themed area to give park guests a whole lot more Springfield craziness to experience!
The Simpsons debuted on the 17th December 1989 and has since become the longest running American sitcom, with an excess of 515 episodes created. It’s pretty fair to say that we’ve known and loved The Simpsons for some time now.
When Universal Orlando welcomed this dysfunctional oddball family to Universal Studios on the 15th May 2008 with The Simpsons Ride we were finally able to familiarise ourselves, not only with the likes of Bart, Homer, Marge, Lisa and Maggie, but Krusty the Clown, Grampa, Sideshow Bob and Professor Fink, in a completely different realm to viewing the show on TV.
Should the rumours circulating the theme park blogosphere have any truth in them – which they often do, it may very well be that the construction walls located between Animal Actors on Location and The Simpsons Ride conceal the composition of a Springfield expansion!
The anticipated expansion is rumoured to bring to The Simpsons themed area:
A Springfield food court featuring various eateries:
General Chang’s Taco Italian
Kentucky Fried Panda
And two new attractions:
Kang and Kodus spinner ride
Krusty the Clown character meet and greet!
The Springfield community is just as outlandish as The Simpsons family the town makes home to, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed that these rumours materialise into some Springfield mayhem for you all to experience.
