2019 is set to be a HUGE year at Walt Disney World, with a host of new experiences set to open at the Disney parks. Disney have confirmed that there will be not just 1, but 19 new additions in total! If you’re planning a visit next year, you’ll be able to make the most of these new, limited-time experiences by getting up close to iconic Disney characters, watching dazzling new shows, joining in epic dance parties and much more.

1. Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration
On November 18th, Mickey Mouse will be celebrating a big birthday- his 90th! The celebrations won’t end there though as they’ll be running through to next year. A brand new show called Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration will take place at the Magic Kingdom in honour of the Disney duo. There will be new music, dancing and plenty of fun.
2. Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party
The second new experience inspired by Mickey and Minnie will be a lively street party. Mickey, Minnie and all of their pals will be out in full force for an epic party and you’re invited too! This will take place in front of the Cinderella Castle and will feature new versions of songs from the Mickey Mouse Club.
3. Mickey & Minnie Merchandise and Food
If you think that party food is one of the best bits of a party, then you’ll be pleased to hear that there is soon going to be a new selection of mouth-watering snacks inspired by Minnie & Mickey. 2019 will also see the introduction of some new Mickey and Minnie-themed merchandise.
4. Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party
Everybody knows that Hakuna Matata means no worries and this amazing dance party is the perfect place to let go and dance the day away. Brush up on your best dance moves and get ready for a party like no other, alongside Timon and Rafiki. The Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party will be in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Lion King and will take place at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
5. Lion King Photos
Get into the party spirit by posing in front of the new 3D photo opportunities located throughout the Animal Kingdom Park. These will represent classic scenes from this iconic Disney movie. Get ready to strike a pose!
6. Meet the Incredibles
The Incredibles are coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and you’ll have the chance to meet them! The park’s Pixar Place area will be transformed into a Municiberg city block where you’ll be able to meet the whole family.
7. A Super Party
That’s not all you’ll see of the Incredibles though. There will also be an exciting party held in honour of Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible and Frozone, to celebrate their super deeds.
8. Meet & Greet with Edna Mode
There will be another new meet and greet experience at the park with Edna Mode- the famous super suit designer. You will be able to meet the quirky Incredibles star at a new location in Pixar Place and you’ll also be able to see some of her best creations on display.
9. Search for Jack-Jack
The youngest member of the Incredibles family is known to cause mischief and at Walt Disney World, it’s no different. Search for clues along Pixar Place to try and track down Jack- Jack in this fun new experience.
10. Epcot International Festival of the Arts
This popular festival will be returning for the third year in 2019, with lots of new experiences for guests to enjoy. The festival will begin on 18th January running through to the 25th February. There will be visual and performing arts to admire and world-class cuisine to try.
11. Disney on Broadway Concert Series
The Disney on Broadway Concert Series is a huge part of the Festival of the Arts and the good news is, it’s going to be bigger than ever in 2019. The Disney on Broadway Concert Series sees Broadway performers take to the stage to sing classic Disney hits from movies like Frozen, Aladdin, The Lion King and The Little Mermaid to name a few. Next year (for the first time) the concerts will take place seven days a week.
12. Meet the Monsters
Another new meet and greet experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will let you get up close to Disney’s finest monsters. Head over to the ‘Walt Disney Presents’ attraction, step through the door and be transported to a monster universe where you’ll come face to face with Mike and Sulley.
13. The Dapper Dans
If you’ve been to the Magic Kingdom before you might have already seen this talented barbershop quartet perform. Next year, they’ll be updating their routine to include songs in honour of Mickey and Minnie Mouse. You’ll find the Dapper Dans on Main Street USA. Make sure you go and listen to their new material.
14. Limited-Time Magic
For a limited time only, there will be some exciting entertainment experiences to enjoy at the Magic Kingdom. Disney aren’t revealing too much just yet, but they have said that these fun, new experiences will be popping up periodically early next year.
15. Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival
Another famous festival at Disney’s Epcot park, is the International Flower & Garden Festival. This takes place every year, but next year there will be some new additions to get excited about. There will be new outdoor kitchens and Disney-themed topiaries, so make sure you check them out during your visit. Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival will take place from 6th March-3rd June.
16. Garden Rocks Concert Series
The Garden Rocks Concert Series is amazing and gives you the chance to watch incredible live music from world-famous artists. This is part of the International Flower & Garden Festival and admission to the concerts is included free with your tickets. Next year will be the biggest concert series ever with 270 concerts in total!
17. Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy
Calling all Cars fans! A new show called Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy is launching at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in spring 2019. This action-packed show lets you see Lightning McQueen perform impressive stunts and speed around the track with his pals.
18. Meet Cruz Ramirez
After the show, stick around to meet Cruz Ramirez. You’ll find him outside the racing academy, so get ready to snap that selfie.
19. New Fireworks Show
Disney’s fireworks displays are unlike any other and a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort wouldn’t be complete until you’ve watched one. IllumiNations is the current night-time firework show at Epcot, but Disney have revealed that this will soon be coming to an end. Don’t worry though, something amazing is already lined up to replace it. The new firework show will begin as soon as IllumiNations finishes at the end of summer 2019 and will still be a nightly display on the World Showcase Lagoon.
