1. Mouse Ears
Mickey Mouse is the one that started it all, and a visit to Walt Disney World isn’t complete until you’ve met the mouse himself! That’s why a pair of mouse ears has to be one of our favourite souvenirs. They’re also one of the most iconic souvenirs, and will make your holiday Instagram snaps worthy of a double-tap!
There are plenty of varieties of Mickey and Minnie Mouse ears to choose from, including limited edition seasonal ears, glowing ears, personalised ears and even bride and groom ears! You can choose a Mickey Mouse Ear Hat (which costs around $15) or a mouse headband (approx. $20+).
We love this option because it’s totally free and great fun! Once you’ve booked and paid for your Disney tickets make the most of the opportunity to meet your favourite Disney characters. There’s plenty of Disney heroes (and villains!) to be found throughout the parks, and you’ll be able to meet them, take photos and get autographs, all free of charge!
Of course, if you haven’t already got an autograph book, you can pick one up at the souvenir shops in the park, but if you have one at home make sure you bring it along and fill it up! This is a great way to look back and remember your holiday once you’re back at home.
Top tip- make sure you pick up a park map as soon as you arrive, as this will have all of the details of when and where you can meet the characters.
3. Disney Trading Pins
Pin trading is a big thing at Walt Disney World, and there are hundreds of different varieties available to purchase from shops around the parks. The pins have colourful designs featuring things like Disney characters and iconic attractions. The idea is that you can swap your own pins for shiny new ones with cast members in the parks.
Disney regularly introduce new designs or limited-edition pins for a special event or season. These ones are much rarer, so if your visiting during the holiday season, make sure you pick up an exclusive souvenir and keep hold of it. If you’re serious about pin trading, head to Disney Springs, where there’s a whole shop dedicated to the hobby. ‘Disney’s Pin Traders’ is the perfect place to go to build your collection and swap pins with fellow guests.
4. Ride Photos
Who doesn’t love coming off a roller coaster and rushing to the photo stand to see your ‘ride face’? The camera always catches the most candid moments, and often produces hilarious results! Whether it’s the expression of horror as you plummet to the bottom, your face caught mid-scream, or a carefully orchestrated pose, ride photos are a great reminder of your holiday.
When you pre-book your Disney tickets with Orlando Ticket Deals you’ll get a Memory Maker worth $169 included for FREE. This will store all of the photos from your trip in one place, so that when you get home you can easily choose and download your favourites.
5. Souvenir Cups
We think that souvenir cups are definitely one of the best souvenirs at Walt Disney World. Not only are they fun and colourful, they’re also practical and are something you can actually get use of when you’re back at home. They’re also reasonably priced and some options let you enjoy free drinks refills throughout the day with your purchase! When you’re spending the day in the famous Floridian sunshine, you’ll need plenty of drinks to keep you cool, so getting free refills is a great way to save money.
6. Disney Plush Toy
At the Walt Disney World Resort, you can get a cuddly plush of pretty much any Disney character you can think of. From Mickey and Minnie, to the Disney princesses and even some furry friends, there really are hundreds to choose from! Little ones will love cuddling up to their adorable plush on the plane home, and may even find that they’ve made a friend for life.
Tsum Tsums are miniature plush toys that have become popular collectibles. These small toys make for great souvenirs and are ideal presents to bring back home for your friends that will easily fit in your suitcase.
7. Christmas Ornament
This might sound like a souvenir you can only get during the winter, but at Walt Disney World you can find a bit of Christmas magic all year round- you just have to know where to go! Disney’s Days of Christmas (at Disney Springs) and Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe (at the Magic Kingdom) are full of festive goodies. As soon as you walk in, you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped into a winter wonderland, with everything from ornaments and baubles, to stockings and Disney-themed decorations. Even if you’re not visiting any time close to Christmas, we still think it’s a great idea to take home a decoration that can take pride of place on your Christmas tree!
