The biggest new attraction to get excited about comes from Universal who will be opening a brand new water theme park called Volcano Bay! Opening next summer, this unique park will become the first of its kind. Combining an idyllic relaxation experience with thrilling water slides, Volcano Bay will have something for everyone. Standing at a staggering 200-foot-tall, the park’s centrepiece (and might we add a great photo opportunity!) is an enormous volcano that doubles as an exhilarating water slide! During the day rushing water cascades down the side, but by night red bubbling lava erupts from the crater.
For maximum thrills, fall through a surprise trap door on Ko’okiri Body Plunge before plummeting 125-foot through the centre of the volcano, or for family-friendly fun try the water raft rides shaped like manta rays. If you’re just looking to relax and unwind, head to the tranquil beach area or opt for a luxurious private cabana!
Opening: 1st June 2017 (Universal Orlando Resort)

While unfortunately nothing has been officially confirmed, we just can’t help but get excited about the prospect of a Harry Potter expansion! Rumours have been circulating for some time that wizarding hub the Ministry of Magic could soon be coming to the Universal Orlando Resort. Hopeful fans have speculated that the red phone box at the entrance of King’s Cross Station could be a clue that the expansion is coming, as in the Harry Potter films, a phone box is used as a portal to take wizards straight to the Ministry. Alan Gilmore (art director for Universal’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter projects) appeared to back up the rumours by saying “It may be in the future, who knows?”.
