If you’ve ever dreamed of seeing the world famous ‘Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights’ at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you should know that sadly 2015 is the very last year you can enjoy this magical Christmas event. Due to the expansion of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, which will see brand new Toy Story and Star Wars lands added to the park, there will unfortunately no longer be space to put on this much loved spectacle beyond this, its 20th year.
The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights has been an Orlando Christmas staple since 1995, when it was installed on “Residential Street” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. However, the event itself dates back to 1986, when businessman Jennings Osborne turned is Arkansas home into a 1000-light spectacle as a present for his 6-year-old daughter. 10 years and a few million lights later, the display became too big and too famous for the family home and was moved to Orlando, where it has been in residence ever since.
