The Park contains over 30 different attractions suitable for all ages and providing hours (perhaps even days!) of fantastic fun for the whole family. There's plenty for everyone when it comes to Disney World's Magic Kingdom rides.
In this blog, we take a look at the top rides at Magic Kingdom, Disney World.
For Big Thrills
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Get ready for the wildest ride in the wilderness, as you race through a haunted gold mine on this family-friendly rollercoaster.
Take your seat aboard the speeding train and whizz back through time to the 1850’s, when (as legend has it) gold was first discovered in this area. After descending through an abandoned mine shaft at Big Thunder Mining Company, you’ll have to dodge exploding dynamite and falling boulders while you dart through the mysterious ghost town of Tumbleweed.
This is a fast rollercoaster, suitable for both children and adults, but some sections are a little bumpier and others take place in the dark.
A firm park favourite, Space Mountain is a high speed roller coaster that takes place in the dark, hurtling riders through the epic vastness of space, as your rocket twists, turns and drops, reaching speeds of 30mph.
You’ll zoom through the galaxy while a futuristic soundtrack plays around you, whizzing past shooting stars and satellites. As you’re pulled towards a sinking wormhole, you’ll feel the force of gravity increase, in this fast-paced, exhilarating attraction.
Coming Soon - TRON Lightcycle Power Run
Inspired by the hit film, the TRON Lightcycle Power Run attraction opened at Disneyland in Shanghai in 2016, and is expected to open in Florida at some point soon, ready for the park's 50th anniversary celebrations.
On this rollercoaster, guests will board a train of two-wheeled Lightcycles, ready to embark on an epic journey through the digital frontier.
The attraction is already a huge hit over in China, and we can’t wait to see the attraction open in Tomorrowland soon.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
Promising big thrills for little riders, this Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs themed mine train attraction is a fantastic way to introduce roller coasters to your kids.
Race through the mine to the soundtrack from the hit film, and take a peek inside the Dwarves cottage as you see them sing and dance along with Snow White.
Capture your memories and take home those special moments too, as the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train also takes photos and videos of your ride. This is all included with your Memory Maker* , which is included with all 2021 adult Disney’s Ultimate Tickets.
Quite possibly one of the most iconic attractions at Magic Kingdom Park is Splash Mountain. This thrilling log-flume ride takes you through a fantastical world of creatures and whimsy as you climb higher and higher surrounded by more than 100 adorable animatronic animals.
Don't get too comfortable though, as you'll soon be dropping 5 storeys in the epic final splash down!
Fun for Little Ones
Magic Kingdom Park is a great place for children and young families to explore as well as adults. The Classic Disney theming and fairytale-inspired attractions provide a fantastic backdrop for amazing kid-friendly experiences, suitable for all ages.
“it’s a small world”
Yes, it’s the attraction with ‘that’ song and yes, you will walk round the park for the rest of the day with it stuck in your head! However, you can’t visit Magic Kingdom Park without experiencing arguably the most famous theme park attraction in the world!
This attraction, designed by Mary Blair, features over 300 animatronic children all in handmade traditional costumes from cultures around the world.
As your boat travels through the different countries the soundtrack changes and you hear ‘It’s a Small World’ sung in 3 different languages during the 10 minute boat ride.
There is so much to look at during this, with colourful characters and whimsical animals that little ones will have fun pointing out.
Prince Charming Regal Carousel
A real classic fairground attraction to go with the perfect fairytale theme of Fantasyland this traditional carousel ride plays organ versions of Disney classics as you ride on your horse.
Placed right in the centre of Fantasyland, this carousel really does put you in the centre of the magic.
Rumour has it that Cinderella has her favourite horse on the attraction - look for the horse with the golden ribbon on its tail!
Under The Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid
A must for those little princesses - who wouldn’t want to take an under the sea journey with Ariel and Sebastian?
Jump in your clamshell for a fun musical ride through the story of The Little Mermaid. See some of your favourite characters from and bag an invite to the wedding of Eric and Ariel.
Family Fun and Games
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
This fully interactive family shooting ride is perfect for a bit of friendly family, space-themed, competition.
Join Buzz as he defeats evil Emperor Zurg, with the help of you and your family as honorary Space Rangers. Who will get the highest score?
Another of the most iconic and most popular rides at Magic Kingdom Park, you need to make time to visit the 999 happy haunts who live here.
This is a dark ride, but as with most Disney attractions, the ‘spooky’ elements here focus on the fun side, and the whole experience is one of the most immersive in the park.
Board a doom buggy and take a tour of the mansion as you learn the story of the Black Widow Bride and see some incredible unexplained special effects.
But make sure you don’t take any of the ghosts home with you, as they do have a tendency to try and hitchhike as you leave!
Pirates of the Caribbean
This attraction is another of the most famous at Disney, thanks to the popular movie franchise based on it.
Pirates of the Caribbean is a dark water ride, taking you on an adventure with pirates in the tropical islands.
Board your boats as you float over 630,000 gallons of water, see 53 audio-animatronic animals and birds, and 75 audio-animatronic pirates and villagers, including the infamous Captain Jack Sparrow.
