
It’s all go at Walt Disney World, as they prepare to welcome guests to their newly opened attractions and get ready to open some exciting new attractions next year too. Let’s take a look at all the recently opened and upcoming attractions, which you can enjoy on your next Disney holiday.
NBA Experience
This opened at Disney Springs on August 12th 2019, allowing fans to experience what it’s like to walk in the footsteps of the NBA and WNBA players. Slam-dunk fun for all ages, featuring a range of various basketball-related activities - 13 games in fact - a retail store, and a restaurant which is opening soon.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Of course, the attraction of the year is the much-awaited Star Wars land which is NOW OPEN at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Millenium Falcon: Smugglers Run is the first attraction to open in the area, with Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opening December 5th. Other attractions already open are Oga’s Cantina - the local watering hole on Black Spire Outpost, which is serving up various adult and kid-friendly delights. Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo is the main restaurant in the area, which is a counter-service restaurant that features a wide variety of ingredients from across galaxies far and wide. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is an immersive, completely breathtaking experience, which many early reports have already sung their praises about.
Epcot Forever
IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth will be retired at the end of September 2019, however a new limited-time spectacular called Epcot Forever will be starting the very next day on October 1st! This will feature fireworks, stunning laser effects and choreographed kites, set to theme park favourite music. This will capture all that you love about Epcot and be sure to stir your senses.
HarmonioUS
Following Epcot Forever, a brand new nighttime spectacular HarmonioUS, is planned to open in 2020. Guests will be able to celebrate how Disney music inspires people around the world, in this highly elaborate show featuring massive floating set pieces, custom-built LED panels, choreographed moving fountains, lights, pyrotechnics, and lasers.
Disney Skyliner
This new transportation system is styled on a gondola, and will connect Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot for four hotels - Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Carribean Beach Resort, and the upcoming Disney’s Riviera Resort. Called Disney Skyliner, this is set to open later this month on September 29th 2019. Glide along the treetops in state-of-the-art gondolas, for that added magic.
Disney’s Riviera Resort
As mentioned, Walt Disney World is getting a brand new hotel - Disney’s Riviera Resort. This will open later this year on December 16th 2019, and will “celebrate the grandeur of Europe”. Stay in a cozy Tower Studios or spread out in spacious 1-Bedroom Villas, 2-Bedroom Villas, and 3-Bedroom Grand Villas.
City Works Eatery and Pour House
We love a new Disney restaurant! Rediscover classic American cuisine in this new eatery, alongside a massive selection of craft brews. This will be located in Disney Springs, and is described as an “upbeat restaurant meets ultimate sports bar”.
Space 220
Another exciting new restaurant, this time at Future World in Epcot. This is being built next to Mission: SPACE, due to open later this year. Dine on internationally inspired cuisine, while enjoying daytime and nighttime views of Earth from 220 miles up. An “out of this world” experience - get it?
Walt Disney Imagineering presents the Epcot Experience
The transformation of Epcot is possibly the most exciting thing happening at Disney World over the next few years. And, at the Odyssey Events Pavilion, guests will be able to learn all about the changes which are coming, discovering engaging and interactive exhibits that showcase the innovative development. We can’t wait to get a look at this one.
“Beauty and the Beast” sing-along
Everyone loves a sing-along, and this new one comes from Beauty and the Beast, created by the one and only Dan Hahn - producer of both the live-action and animated films. A family-friendly activities, located in the France Pavilion of Epcot. Opening January 2020.
Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360
Staying in Epcot, we’re flying over the Canada Pavilion for this next attraction, which is a new updated version of the O Canada! film. Debuting January 2020.
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway
We’re really looking forward to this next attraction, as it will be the first attraction at any Disney Park which star Mickey Mouse and friends! This is planned to open spring 2020 in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and will see guests zip away on a zany adventure through a surprise-filled cartoon universe.
Roundup Rodeo BBQ Restaurant
Another new food place, yipee! This one is located in Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and will be a table service restaurant. Diners will be made to feel like they’re the size of toy, surrounded by playsets, toys, and a brand new play area.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
Coming summer 2020 is this trackless family-friendly dark ride, a new “Ratatouille” attraction in the France Pavilion in Epcot.
Le Crêperie de Paris
And that’s not all that’s coming to the France Pavilion next summer. We’ll also see a brand new French-inspired restaurant, offering both table- and quick-service options from a menu from celebrity chef Jerome Bocuse.
Awesome Planet
Lot’s happening in Epcot - phew! The Land Pavilion in Epcot will be getting a new film, which showcases the beauty, diversity, and dynamic story of the planet, debuting January 2020.
Cirque du Soleil
Finally - but by no means least - Disney will be getting its first Cirque show. This will celebrate all things Disney animation, and well as highlighting the thrilling spectacles of Cirque du Soleil. Coming to Disney Springs in spring 2020.
