Star Wars Land Confirmed for Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland
Feel the force, theme park fans!
It was confirmed this week, after much speculation over the last few months, that a brand new land based on the hit film series Star Wars will be landing at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland in a time far, far away…

Yep, unfortunately we don’t have any time scales yet on when this might happen, but a confirmation from Disney is enough to get us excited! So, what do we know so far?

Well, details are so vague we’re not even sure where this new land will be in the parks. What we do know is that it will cover 14 acres, making it the largest expansion for one single new land that Disney has ever undertaken!

There will be at least 3 rides in the new land: the existing Star Tours ride plus two brand new rides. The first of the 2 new rides is a flight simulator attraction which allows the rider to “take the controls of one of the most recognizable ships in the galaxy, the Millennium Falcon, on a customized secret mission”! However we know very little about the second ride, except that it will be based on the forthcoming new Star Wars films. Guests will find themselves in the middle of an epic battle with The First Order, the newest Star Wars villains! This indicates that the new land will not be completed until at least a while after the next film is released.

Another exciting concept that was announced was that everything in the new Land will be authentically Star Wars themed. This means that all food, drink and souvenirs will be based around the franchise and not littered with “Earthly” branded snacks! This is a great way to ensure complete immersion in the Star Wars theme for guests and a great opportunity to get creative with the food and drink outlets around the Land. The iconic Mos Eisley Cantina will lead the way in the themed restaurants, selling the famous Blue Milk from the franchise.
