Last week, Disney finally revealed a rough opening date for the much-anticipated Star Wars lands opening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World and at Disneyland California. This week, they have revealed that the village on the fictional planet of Batuu will be called Black Spire Outpost. Disney Parks Story Editor Margaret Kerrison explained: "The largest settlement on the planet Batuu, Black Spire Outpost is an infamous stop for traders, adventurers, and smugglers travelling around the Outer Rim and Wild Space”.
"Off the beaten path, this outpost has become a haven for the galaxy’s most colourful and notorious characters.
"Known for the petrified remains of its once towering ancient trees, the spires now stand guard across the river valleys and plains.
"To the first settlers, these petrified spires became more than just landmarks; they became the heart of the outpost itself."
Traders, adventurers and smugglers can start entering Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge from summer 2019 at Disneyland California, or late autumn 2019 for Walt Disney World. 2019 tickets are already on sale for Walt Disney World…so what are you waiting for?
