What's new at Walt Disney World Resort?
As 2013 draws to a close, we look back on what happened in the heart of the magic over the last 12 months and look ahead to an exciting 2014...

The most magical place on earth, Walt Disney World Resort Florida has been a favourite for holidaymakers to the sunshine state for years, and it isn’t hard to see why! Four amazing theme parks, two incredible water parks, amazing themed hotels and more of your favourite characters than anywhere else, it is a must visit! There has been plenty going on at Disney over the last year, with some huge news for 2014 too, that promises to make your holiday even more magical than ever before!

What was new in 2013?

The biggest new attraction for guests arriving to Disney in 2013 was the all new Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom. In what was the biggest expansion in the park’s history, some of your favourite fairytales have come to life bigger and better than ever.  Take a trip under the sea with the Little Mermaid, explore Belle’s cottage before experiencing the Enchanted Tales with Belle attraction and even eat in the Beast’s castle at the incredible Be Our Guest restaurant! Get there early to make sure you get a seat!

What's happening in 2014?

In what has been one of the biggest developments in the history of Disney (or any Orlando theme park for that matter), MyMagic+ is launching in 2014, giving you the ability to pre-book your favourite rides and attractions before you go. Pre-book your Fast Passes with the new FastPass+, allowing you to book up to three rides per day, 60 days before you travel. Look out for a state of the art mobile app that will help you get around the parks as well as reminding you of when your Fast Passes are booked for. Best of all, you won’t need to worry about racking up a huge phone bill for using all that data, as high speed Wi-Fi is now available throughout the whole resort, free of charge!

In terms of new attractions, the big news comes in the shape of the completion of New Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train ride set to open in 2014.

Meanwhile, over at Epcot in the Morocco pavilion, keep an eye out for the new Spice Road Table restaurant, serving traditional Moroccan dishes alongside the World Showcase Lagoon, making it the perfect place to stop off for some great food and people watching!
