If you have visited Walt Disney World Since 2003, you’ll be familiar with one of the most iconic fireworks shows in the world – the ‘Wishes’ night-time spectacular at The Magic Kingdom. You might have even shed a little tear to it or sung along to the soundtrack at the top of your lungs. However you enjoyed it, the show (and its various seasonal forms) has been wowing guests at the parks every night for the last 14 years but will be going out with a bang on the 11th May this year.
The ‘Wishes’ night-time spectacular first debuted at the park on the 9th October 2003 – a spectacular 12-minute show featuring 683 fireworks over 557 cues, colourful projections on Cinderella’s Castle and, of course, an incredible soundtrack straight from Disney’s iconic films. The show celebrates the power of believing and the magic of Walt Disney World through some of its best-loved Characters. During the holidays, Wishes has been transformed over the years in to ‘Happy Hallowishes’ and ‘Holiday Wishes: Celebrate the Spirit of the Season’ among many other seasonal re-inventions which have proved to be hugely popular with guests. We’ve loved it for years and we’re sad to see it go but excited to see Disney’s brand new show, the ‘Happily Ever After’ show which begins 12th May, 2017.
The new show will continue the Disney tradition of combing Disney storytelling, Characters, fireworks and projection mapping technology to create a jaw-dropping show that you really won’t want to miss. And don’t worry, Tink will still be flying! The ‘Happily Ever After’ theme aims to encourage guests to find their own ‘Happily Ever After’ moment through the adventures of some of Disney’s most loved Characters, including moments from the brand new Moana film as well as classics such as Aladdin, Brave and The Princess and the Frog.
