Although it won’t be for a long while (6 years to be exact!), we were very excited to hear the news this morning that the SeaWorld brand is expanding into the Middle East in the coming years. The park will be the UAE’s first Marine Life Research, Rescue, Rehabilitation and Return Center when it opens in 2022.
SeaWorld Abu Dhabi will be opening on Yas Island, a man-made island to the East of Abu Dhabi’s city centre and only an hour’s drive from Dubai. It will be the first SeaWorld Park constructed without Orcas, in line with the company’s new policy announced in March this year whilst remaining on the forefront of marine rescue and rehabilitation, ride technology and animal experiences.
SeaWorld will bring 50-plus years of experience in marine rescue, veterinary care and ride technology to the already expanding exciting destination of Abu Dhabi, and will work to protect the region’s diverse marine life.
Although 6 years might be a long wait for the theme park itself to open, the park’s 4-R Center will be opening first, giving local residents the chance to learn more about the park’s 4 core values: Research, Rescue, Rehabilitation and Return. Watch this space for more news and tickets!
