The UK is already home to some of the biggest and best attractions in the world and there’s so much more to look forward to as more fantastic additions are getting ready to open their gates.
From brand new rides in our favourite theme parks to exciting new resorts, there’s going to be something for everyone to try out and enjoy, as these UK attractions welcome guests once again.
The London Resort
News of The London Resort has been circulating for years already, promising to be the most epic of theme park experiences in this part of the world.
Already being dubbed the ‘UK Disneyland’ by various media outlets, we’ve recently been treated to another glimpse into the plans of this elusive resort.
Base Camp will be an entire land dedicated to dinosaurs, complete with roaming dinos, two coasters, dark rides, interactive dig sites, and a unique fine dining experience. It’s based on the philosophy of what an actual, modern-day prehistoric nature reserve might look like and is set to be a truly immersive experience.
Promising to be one of the most sustainable and innovative theme parks, The London Resort will be located on the banks of the River Thames, within easy reach of the capital. The company hopes to start work on the resort in 2022, with a view to open the first theme park gate in 2024. Fingers crossed it all goes to plan! Watch this space for more information.
Disney Magic at Sea
While we wait to be able to return to our favourite Disney parks, what better way to get your fix of all the characters and stories you love than a Disney cruise?
Exclusive to UK residents and perfect for the entire family, this summer you’ll be able to set sail on a unique Disney storytelling adventure when you board a 2, 3, or 4-night staycation cruise with Disney Magic at Sea.
There will be themed onboard entertainment, dining, and recreation, with all the care you expect from Disney. Have special moments with Disney Characters and create the holiday of a lifetime, closer to home.
Gangsta Granny: The Ride
Opening spring 2021 at Alton Towers Resort, Gangsta Granny: The Ride is a hilarious new family-friendly attraction inspired by the world of David Walliams. Granny and Ben need YOUR help in pulling off one of the greatest jewel heists in history. Take your seat in the royal carriage and experience a whirlwind of fun!
You’ll spin through the sewers, avoiding the Feds, while impressive 360-degree special effects take you on a wild ride to break into the crown jewels vault! Perfect for little ones and adults alike.
LEGO MYTHICA: World of Mythical Creatures
LEGOLAND Windsor is getting a brand new themed land AND rides for 2021, inspired by mysterious mythical creatures.
Opening 29th May, the land will be home to three new rides, including the UK’s first flying theatre ride, Flight of the Sky Lion. You’ll embark on a thrilling journey through the various realms, coming face-to-face with some of the rarest and scariest mythical creatures from LEGO MYTHICA.
There’s also Fire & Ice Freefall, with two spinning drop rides, and Hydra’s Challenge, an exciting interactive water ride!
As well as these epic attractions, there will also be 13 LEGO models placed throughout the new land, including one of the largest LEGO models ever seen at a LEGOLAND theme park.
Make your mark at LEGO MYTHICA too - at Creature Creation, you can build and imagine your very own mythical creature.
Recently opened at Chessington World of Adventures Resort, this 25m drop ride sees guests plunge into the giant jaws of a crocodile! Not for the faint of heart, the attraction is inspired by Sobek, the Ancient Egyptian Crocodile God and protector of the Nile.
Unfortunately, he’s been possessed by evil spirits, turning him into a cruel and terrifying deity. Riders will take part in a ‘ceremony’ to banish the evil spirits from Sobek - while trying to survive the drop!
Black Mirror: Labyrinth
The UK’s first Black Mirror experience will be opening at Thorpe Park Resort on May 21st when guests are invited to playtest the labyrinth!
Set in the unnerving near-future, this is a sinister and twisted, sensory-defying maze that places you right in the middle of the dystopian Black Mirror universe. Escape, or lose your mind trying…
Zog and the Quest for the Golden Star Trail
Head to Warwick Castle this spring for an exciting new family-friendly adventure, starring Zog the lovable dragon. This 3D interactive trail has now opened at the attraction, and will teach budding dragons in-training all the skills they need to become one of the team!
From flying, roaring, and even breathing fire, there are five fantastic tasks for kids to complete along this trail. Collect a stamp after each one, and meet Zog at the end of the challenge for an exclusive picture opportunity while he hands out golden stars.
