What not to miss
Blue Man Group
The Blue Man Group show is a spectacular theatre, comedy, rock concert and dance party all rolled into one. The one-of-a-kind production has dazzled over 35-million people worldwide and is a must-see. Three bald, blue-skinned characters take to the stage to deliver a multi-sensory experience like no other, where audience members might even get asked to join in. Innovative, captivating and totally unique, watch in awe as paint splatters across the stage as well as the crowd.
For those wanting to indulge in a bit of retail therapy, Universal’s CityWalk has a range of unique shops and boutiques. For women’s clothing visit Fresh Produce and for colourful Hawaiian shirts, head to The Island Clothing Store. You’ll find skateboarding apparel at Element and everything you need for the beach at Quiet Flight Surf Shop. Dine on Southern fried chicken sliders, fire grilled chicken wings and Angus beef burgers, and choose an ice-cold glass of beer to go with it from the 100+ draft selection.
Unique Dining Experiences
There are plenty of unique dining experiences to enjoy at Universal CityWalk, making this the perfect place to come for dinner after a long day exploring the theme parks. The Cowfish has to be one of the most unique though, serving up an unlikely combination of burgers and sushi to create a fusion that they’ve dubbed “Burgushi”. The menu includes crispy calamari, tuna nachos, fresh sushi rolls and succulent burgers. For those who can’t decide, try a bento box with a mini American cheese burger, sweet potato fries and a 4-piece sushi roll selection.
The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen
When the Steampunk-inspired Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen opened its doors for the first time in 2016, it became an instant hit. Like the name suggests, the new restaurant is a cocoa paradise that’s sure to delight anyone with a sweet tooth. Sweet dishes include delicious ice cream sundaes, waffles and the emporium’s speciality- mammoth milkshakes. Choose between a red velvet shake topped with an actual cupcake, a traditional key lime pie flavoured shake or the ‘Chocolate x5’- an explosion of chocolate chunks, chocolate sprinkles and chocolate ice cream.
For something savoury, enjoy classic dishes with a twist, like tasty coffee and chocolate stout chicken wings and the Tour De France burger, made up of a juicy half-pound burger with lettuce, roasted tomatoes, sliced avocado, crispy fried onions, melted brie and a sunny side up fried egg, all in a toasted brioche bun.
Whether you’re a fan of pop, rock, rap or reggae, there’s something for everyone at Universal CityWalk. The “Coliseum of Rock ‘n’ Roll” at the Hard Rock Live is an incredible music venue located adjacent to the Hard Rock Café, where some of the biggest stars on the planet come to perform. Seating up to 3,000 guests, the audio, lighting and video systems are all state-of-the-art.
Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville offers live entertainment every night, and a choice of three bars in one venue- Land Shark Bar, 12 Volt Bar and the Volcano Bar that features a giant volcano. Forget the lava though, this one erupts with Margaritas. Rising Star lets you take the lead, and perform on stage with a live band and backup singers- not your typical karaoke.
AMC Universal Cineplex 20 with IMAX:
Be part of the action and watch the latest movies at this incredible cinema. With over 20 screens, an immersive IMAX experience theatre and state-of-the-art projection and sound systems, this is the best place to go to catch a movie. There’s a tasty snack menu to enjoy and even a full bar.
Hollywood Drive-In Golf:
Hollywood Drive-In Golf offers something a bit different, with two outrageously themed 18-hole miniature golf courses. Inspired by the 1950’s, the family-friendly courses are based on old horror and sci-fi movies. Putt through a cemetery, a haunted house and even the mouth of a giant space worm.
The groove is a multi-level club designed to look like a century old theatre, that makes for a great night out. There’s a full-service bar, advanced sound and lighting systems, a balcony overlooking CityWalk and a dance floor that’s always packed. The Red Coconut Club combines 1950’s Vegas, Cuban and Polynesian-tiki inspired décor, and serves refreshing cocktails, while Bob Marley- A Tribute to Freedom is a celebration of the life and music of the “King of Reggae”.
Celebrate New Year’s Eve in style at Universal CityWalk. Tickets for the event must be purchased beforehand, and include admission to six clubs, as well as unlimited gourmet cuisine. Party the night away on Orlando’s biggest outdoor dance floor as live bands and DJs play a selection of hits.
