Why Late Autumn is the Best Time to Visit Miami
(And not just because it's still convertible weather!)
Good weather year-round, wide sandy beaches and alluring palm trees swaying in front of the world’s largest collection of art deco buildings – Miami you could be just what we’ve been looking for.

Despite fierce competition, Miami is undoubtedly considered one of the coolest cities in the world. So cool, in fact, that Will Smith dedicated an entire song to it. But why?  Is it the city’s burgeoning arts scene? The diverse communities that live there? The Instagram-friendly pastel architecture? It’s the sum of all these things and more that make Miami one of the hottest holiday destinations in the world. And those beaches don’t hurt either.

Emerging from the intense heat of the summer, Miami comes back to life in late September or early October, when temperatures cool to a delectable 25c. The streets, deserted in favour of the comfort of the shade or an air-conditioned room during the hotter months, suddenly start to fill back up as the restaurants, shops and attractions spring back to life. Best of all, flights can be had for less than £400, a small price to pay to escape the descending winter back home.

Art in Miami

Autumn also culminates in the biggest annual event Miami has to offer, Miami Art Week, known officially as Art Basel Miami Beach which is from December 4 – December 9, 2018. More than 1,200 galleries and thousands of artists descend on the city for 20 international art fairs, with tickets ranging from free to $50 depending on the show. For art lovers, Miami in December is a small slice of heaven.

Can’t be there for Miami Art Week? You can still explore Miami's art scene on a the small group tour of Wynwood. The Wynwood Art and Beer Tour teaches you the stories behind Miami's street art, interspersed with 2 stops at local outdoor breweries so that guests can explore both sides of the city's fun personality.

Kayak Tours Miami

Miami Kayaking Tours

If you’re visiting for just a short time, combine a tour with an exciting activity to get the most out of your visit. The options are endless, from relaxing bike tours of Miami Beach’s South Beach neighbourhood, Segway tours of the Miami Riverside and even kayaking tours of the peaceful Biscayne Bay. We have recently added the Little Havana Bike and Food Tour, which combines two of our great loves – cycling and food! On this tour you can sample some authentic Cuban dishes and learn more about the culture and history of the vibrant Cuban community living in Miami.

Staying for longer? One thing you can’t miss while you’re in the Miami area is a trip to Key West. Hurricane season starts to tail off in November, when calm is restored and temperatures still reach into the late 20’s.  Round trip day tours can be booked as little as a week in advance, leaving you with roughly 5 hours free time to explore the beautiful Keys. Take a walk around The Hemingway Home, enjoy a dolphin cruise or simply take a walking tour around the island and soak up the Caribbean island vibes.

There is so much to see in Miami! Take a look at the range of tours and attractions to experience on your next trip.
