Each year’s Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s is a highlight of the Christmas offering and this year is set to be no different. Starting on the 18th November, guests can look forward to the following sights throughout the day…
If you’re not familiar with the Macy’s Parade in New York, the main feature is giant larger-than-life balloons. At Universal, guests will be able to spot 16 incredible balloons, 13 of which were designed exclusively for the park. Look out for Bob from The Minions chasing his favourite teddy bear and King Julien from Madagascar on a giant pineapple balloon - yes you read that right! As the characters from Shrek appear, look up to see the adorable baby Dronkeys flying above.
Beneath the balloons look out for 15 beautifully-designed floats themed around popular characters from films such as The Minions, Madagascar and Shrek, all of course with a festive holiday twist. On the Madagascar float, Santa Claus is even going on a tropical island holiday with the adorable penguins!
Holiday performers and characters will accompany the floats along the parade, interacting with the crowd, dancing and generally getting everybody in the holiday spirit! Merry elves, toy soldiers and even characters from Shrek will be accompanying the incredible floats – make sure you don’t miss it.
It’s not just these guys entertaining the guests though – the Minions will also be dazzling crowds with their rendition of ‘Jingle Bells’ as they decorate their Christmas tree and Santa Claus will be welcoming guests into his workshop.
