Our guide to Paris City Tour: Eiffel Tower views, Île de la Cité & Louvre Access (by WALKS)
Most first-time visits to Paris turn into a logistics puzzle: which sites, which tickets, how much walking, how not to get lost. This guided tour solves it in one morning. Cross the river for a classic view of the city's most recognizable tower, walk the medieval streets at the historic heart of Paris, and finish with entry already arranged to one of the world's most visited museums, so you're inside exploring instead of standing in line. Built for first-time visitors, with every ticket and transit connection sorted in advance.
Begin in a leafy garden across the river from Paris's most recognizable landmark, a soaring ironwork tower built for the 1889 World's Fair. Cross a bridge over the Seine for one of the clearest views in the city, then continue on foot for photos at some of its best angles. Your guide shares the story of the exhibition that built it, and the years it spent nearly being torn down.
Next, take the Metro to a small island at the historic heart of Paris, the birthplace of the city itself. Walk past the exterior of an iconic Gothic cathedral, a soaring chapel famous for its stained glass, and a former royal palace turned revolutionary prison, before continuing through a lively student quarter that's been a centre of learning for centuries. Along the way, your guide brings the kings, revolutionaries, and legends of medieval Paris to life. The tour finishes at one of the world's largest and most visited museums, once a royal palace itself. Learn why a modern glass pyramid sits in its historic courtyard, and how the building itself became part of the collection. Step inside with your entry already arranged, so there's no general admission line to wait in. When the guided portion ends, you're free to keep exploring the galleries at your own pace for as long as you like.
