A little less than two hours' drive from Reykjavík is the Eyjafjallajökull glacier, and just a little further the Sólheimajökull glacier tongue extends from Mýrdalsjökull, the fourth largest glacier in Iceland.
A glacier hike is a great way to experience Icelandic nature. Take an easy glacier hike with crampons up to the ice field, where a wonderland of ice sculptures, ridges and deep crevasses wait to be discovered.
During the hike, you'll learn more about these disappearing giants and learn how to use the basic glacier equipment for this tour.
After the hike, on the way back to Reykjavík, stop at the two beautiful waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss.
The Seljalandsfoss is part of the Seljandsá river, which has its source in the Eyjafjallajökull glacier. What makes this waterfall so famous and interesting is the fact that you can walk behind it - don't forget your waterproofs if you want to do that!
Skógafoss, another famous Icelandic waterfall, is the starting point for the hike from Fimmvörðuháls to Þórsmörk. The waterfall has also been a filming location for films such as Thor: The Dark World and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.

- In the event of inclement weather, road closures or other reasons that may affect hotel pickup, you will be informed of the nearest pickup location. It is the guests' responsibility to make their own way to this location to be picked up.
- You will receive a voucher for this experience, please read it carefully. You must present a printed copy of your voucher at the start of the tour.
- Hotel pickups begin 30 minutes before tour departure. You will receive the exact time when you reconfirm your tour on site (if you booked the “Hotel pick-up” ticket option).
- Upon returning from your tour, you will be dropped off at the point where you were picked up or at the closest possible point.
- Remember to bring warm clothing, rain gear and hiking boots.
- On this tour there is no place where we can stop for lunch. Therefore, you need to bring a picnic. We recommend that you sit down for lunch before the hike and perhaps have a small snack afterwards.
- Children under 9 years old are not permitted on this tour.
- Ice climbing is not included on this tour.
- The implementation of this tour depends on the weather conditions on the glacier.
- *Cancellation policy: Free cancellations for bookings canceled with the provider at least 72 hours before the tour date. No refunds for cancellations within 72 hours of tour date.
