What is Disney Dining and Merchandise Credit?

Dining and Merchandise Credit was an offer for 2024 bookings where each room booked at a Disney Hotel got credit to spend at restaurants and shops across Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

The Dining and Merchandise Credit offer has now finished and was replaced by the Free Disney Dining Plan offer for early bookings for 2025. This offer has also now ended.

What’s included in the Disney Dining Plan?

There are currently two versions of the Dining Plan: the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan and the Disney Dining Plan. Let’s have a look at them both in detail to see which one is right for you and your family.

Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan

The first option for pre-paid food credits at Walt Disney World Resort is the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan. Think of this as a bit of a Disney Dining Plan “lite,” where not as much is included as in the full plan, although it’s still very cost-effective. The main difference is that a Table-Service meal is not included in the Quick-Service Dining Plan.

Each guest gets two Quick-Service meals with a drink and one snack or non-alcoholic drink per night of your stay. Quick-Service restaurants are quick and casual dining options – you’ll pop in when you feel peckish on your way to another ride or Disney Character meeting. There’s no need to book in advance, and you don’t need to stick to a specific time.

In addition to this, you’ll also get the Resort-Refillable Drink Mug which you can use for unlimited refills at Quick-Service restaurants at any Disney Resort hotel.

For each night of your stay, guests aged three and over get:

Disney Dining Plan

With the Disney Dining Plan, you can enjoy meals at both Quick-Service and Table-Service restaurants throughout Walt Disney World Resort. Think of it as a kind of “half-board” option where two meals per day are covered. Enjoy making memories over sit-down meals as you discuss the day’s adventures.

You can even use your Disney Dining Plan for unforgettable Character Dining experiences. Sit down with the Disney Princesses or dine with everyone’s favourite mouse – Mickey! You can even experience family-style dining with live entertainment at one of the themed Dinner Shows.

If you’re a bit of a foodie, you can indulge at one of Disney’s fine dining or signature restaurants. Here, you can try premium steaks and fresh seafood or traditional African, Indian, and Mediterranean cuisines. Two Table-Service meals will be redeemed from your plan for each person for select Character Dining, Fine/Signature Dining, and Dinner Shows.

We recommend booking Table-Service restaurants in advance as they can get busy. Bookings are available from 60 days before you travel, so you can be super organised with your planning.

How much does a Disney Dining Plan cost?

The cost of a Disney Dining Plan varies, depending on when you’re travelling. The Quick-Service Dining Plan is a less expensive option than the Disney Dining Plan. However, not as much is included – you get two Quick-Service meals per night of your holiday rather than one Quick-Service and one Table-Service meal.

You can see the prices of a Disney Dining Plan during the booking process. Simply select your Disney Resort hotel and the dates, and you’ll see different pricing options for stays with and without Dining Plans.

Should I get a Disney Dining Plan?

Some people find that the Disney Dining Plan saves them money and is a cost-effective way of eating during their holidays, whereas others find that it doesn’t work for them. If you’re planning to eat at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida for every meal during your stay, then it’s a good idea to add a Disney Dining Plan to your booking.

If you’re spending some days at Walt Disney World Resort but you also want to visit other theme parks, spend some time exploring Orlando, or eat at other restaurants, then it may not be cost-effective for you.
