Experience the thrill of your life with a fast and furious jet boat ride. Really get your adrenaline pumping with this high-speed trip down the legendary Shotover River.
Skimming past rocky outcrops at close range in your Shotover Jet 'Big Red', as you twist and turn through the narrow canyons at breathtaking speeds.
And a major highlight - hold tight for the world famous Shotover Jet full 360 degree spins!
Tour concludes approximately 1 hour 30 minutes after commencement, back at The Station' Info Centre.
Departs
Daily, year round, weather and river conditions permitting. Does not operate on 25th December.
Start times
Rides operate every 15 minutes from 8.00am until sunset.
Duration
Allow around 1.5 hours in total, including 25 minutes jetboating.

Terms and conditions for Shotover Jet Boat Ride
- You will receive a voucher for this experience. Please read it thoroughly.
- Tours depart every 15 minutes from 8am to 4pm. Please check in 45 minutes prior to your expected departure time.
- Minimum age to participate is 3 years.
- If you have any specific medical condition including breaks or fractures or you suffer from back or neck problems please advise us at time of booking so we can assess and advise your suitability to travel.
- We strongly advise that pregnant women do not ride on the jet boat due to the vigorous nature of the ride.
- Spectators are welcome to join the complimentary shuttle service free of charge on a ‘space available’ basis.
- The fleet of 8 boats was specifically designed for the Shotover canyons. The twin V6 powered jet boats have excellent strength and manoeuvrability.
- Photos will be available for purchase after your ride.
- Life jackets are mandatory.
- Cancellation Policy: Free cancellations for bookings cancelled prior to your holiday departure date. No refunds are given for cancellations made post departure.
