Coming Summer 2023
It’s Minions mischief like never before as they get ready to take over a whole street at Universal Studios Florida.

Universal Orlando Resort have given us a first look at the brand-new Minion Land opening in Universal Studios Florida this summer! Part of a larger area of the park called Illumination Avenue (designed in collaboration with the filmmakers), this land will expand upon the existing family-favourite attraction Despicable Me Minion Mayhem™ near the park's entrance.

Included in this sneak peek was more information about what we can expect when it comes to dining in Minion Land; there will be 4 new dining locations, including a quick service restaurant, a bakery and two snack stands. With all these options there will be something for everyone to enjoy, but one thing is for sure - mischief will always be on the menu!

Illumination’s Minion Cafe

There are Minions in the kitchen, mischief in the dining room and tons of tasty food at Minion Land’s marquee dining location - Illumination’s Minion Cafe. Inside will be three themed dining areas featuring beloved Minions like Bob, Kevin, Stuart and Otto; the Kitchen, the Breakroom and the Dining Room. For guests who want to soak up the sun during their meal, there will also be an outdoor patio that overlooks the land.

The Minion Cafe’s menu will feature plenty of family-friendly dishes including:

  • Otto’s Noodle Bowl
  • Agnes’s Honeymoon Soup
  • Carl’s Crispy Cauliflower
  • Steak and ‘Cheese Ray’ Sandwich
  • Bob’s Teddy Bear Chocolate Cream Puff

Plus, for those wanting to maximise their time on the rides and attractions there will also be an express window featuring a reduced menu of grab-and-go options!

Bake My Day

You won’t be able to miss this dining location thanks to the giant pink, Minion-topped cupcake on its roof! Visible from almost everywhere in the land, Bake My Day will be a bakery and retail location, so you can nibble on some sweet treats like cupcakes, macarons and s’mores while browsing exclusive Minion merchandise, from plushes and drinkware to apparel and accessories.

Pop-a-Nana

Banana-flavoured popcorn anyone? When you pop by this stand you’ll be able to choose from a range of sweet and savoury popcorn flavours served in an assortment of cute popcorn buckets, including the Minion Selfie Bucket.

Freeze Ray Pops

You won’t need a freeze ray when you can cool off from the Florida sun with a variety of colourful popsicles inspired by Gru, the Minions and Vector.

What else is coming to Minion Land?

At the Illumination Theater, guests can meet and greet Despicable Me characters like Gru, Margo, Edith and Agnes, and of course the Minions. Plus there will be a number of characters from the hit film Sing, including Rosita, Gunter and Johnny. Throughout Minion Land and the larger  Illumination Avenue, guests can also discover murals and photo ops that celebrate a number of different Illumination films.

And we can’t forget the brand-new ride that will be opening just across the street from Despicable Me Minion Mayhem; Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast! This attraction is described as a “fully interactive gaming experience” with guests competing against each other. But what will truly set it apart from other attractions is that guests won’t be stepping into a ride vehicle, but onto a motion-based pathway that will wind through different scenes.

We can’t wait to experience Minion Land when it opens this summer! While we don’t have an exact opening date just yet, we’ll hopefully only have to wait a few more months to see all of this in person. Make sure you book your Universal Orlando Resort tickets in advance to get the best price; our 3 Park Explorer Tickets aren’t available at the gate!
