The Formula 1 calendar is packed every year, and we know many fans travel to watch their favourite teams race. That's why we've constructed a list of top attractions around the world that fans won't want to miss!

Formula 1 in recent years has become so much more than a sport. It is a global spectacle thanks to the grand race weekends worldwide and the immensely successful programme Drive to Survive on streaming giant Netflix.

With races held almost every weekend during the season at some of the most glamorous, historic and scenic venues in the world, it is understandable why fans flock to these locations to see their favourite drivers and teams fight to stand on top of the podiums and spray their champagne.

Whether you are planning to visit some of the races in the next couple of years to fully soak up the party atmosphere on race day, or you are just a motorsport fan looking for a holiday spot, here’s a guide to the best attractions around the world!

1. Abu Dhabi (Abu Dhabi Grand Prix)

Little ride with small ferrari's lined up on a track. There are small kids sat on this ride holding onto pretend steering wheels.

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is truly special, being the final race of the season and one of the few night races on the F1 calendar. Whether you’re attending to witness the grand finale and see the world champion crowned, or you’re planning a holiday in Abu Dhabi, a visit to Yas Island is a must. Yas Island is a playground for Formula 1 fans, offering guided tours of the Yas Marina Circuit, as well as cycling experiences, driving experiences and go karting!

We all know F1 fans are fiercely loyal to their favourite teams, whether you’re cheering for Red Bull, McLaren, Aston Martin or even Williams. But no trip to Yas Island in Abu Dhabi would be complete without visiting Ferrari World. This indoor theme park is a dream for fans of fast cars and high speeds, dedicated to the iconic Ferrari brand. Ferrari World features over 40 record-breaking rides and attractions, including the world’s fastest rollercoaster, Formula Rossa. With a variety of motorsport-themed attractions suitable for all ages, it’s the perfect destination. As Sebastian Vettel once said, “Everyone’s a Ferrari fan”.

2. Las Vegas (Las Vegas Grand Prix)

The Las Vegas Grand Prix is the newest addition to the F1 calendar, and we’re already huge fans. This night race through the streets of Vegas brings all the glitz and glamour the city is known for. With so much to see and do in this huge city, the best way to truly take it all in is from above! That’s why we believe the ultimate attraction which should be on every F1 fans bucket list is a helicopter tour during the race weekend, which is offered as the King of Canyons with Formula 1 Race Track Views ticket. You’ll get an unbeatable view of the city and the circuit from the sky. Even if you’re visiting outside of race time, a helicopter tour is still a must to appreciate the full layout of the Las Vegas Street Circuit track and the breathtaking skyline.

3. Monaco (Monaco Grand Prix)

Many yachts docked up in the Monaco harbour. Behind there is a pretty mountain.

Monaco stands as one of the most iconic Formula 1 destinations, with the Monaco Grand Prix being one of the most historic races on the calendar which attracts the rich and famous. You can visit the street circuit and walk along the track, spotting the iconic Monte Carlo Casino and other popular attractions along the legendary route.

Additionally, the Private Cars Collection of HSH Prince of Monaco is a must-see for any fan of motorsports, showing off a range of impressive classic cars for you to marvel at. Monaco epitomises class and luxury, so make sure to save up before you visit this glamorous destination. Who knows, you might even bump into your favourite driver there!

4. Barcelona (Spanish Grand Prix)

Big tall rollercoaster which goes straight up and falls down steep drop. There is a huge Ferrari badge, a yellow shield with a black silhouette of a horse and the initials S and F. The rollercoaster car is shaped like a red Ferrari.

Barcelona is ideally located for Formula 1 fans attending the Spanish Grand Prix, with the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya just a 36-minute drive away. If you’re staying in the city beyond race day, we recommend a visit to PortAventura World, approximately 90 minutes from the city.

Here you can enjoy Ferrari Land, an immersive theme park featuring 16 attractions and games that bring excitement of Ferrari to life. Here you can experience thrilling rides, incredible theming which makes you feel as though you stepped into Italy and top-notch Italian cuisine. A Tifosi’s dream!

If you crave more high speed adventures, we recommend you also pay a visit to PortAventura Park. This theme park offers over 40 different rides spread across 6 themed lands. With new shows every season, you’re sure to have an unforgettable experience.

5. The UK (British Grand Prix)

There is a large stage with multi-coloured lighting on it. There is a large crowd watching the stage wearing different F1 teams merch. The stage says Silverstone at the top of it.

The British Grand Prix has delivered some of Formula One's most iconic and unforgettable moments in history, making the UK a must-visit destination for any fan.  Six of the teams are based in England and McLaren offer exciting tours of the McLaren Technology Centre where you can see behind the scenes of the engineering geniuses who develop the incredible cars we love to watch race.

If you’d like a more thrilling, hands on experience, the Aston Martin driving experience is ideal for you! Become an F1 driver for the day as you get behind the wheel of a high performing, luxurious sports car and take it for a spin around the track.

These were our top recommendations for must-visit spots and sights for F1 fans. However, each of these cities has so much to offer beyond the track, from glamour to history and rich cultural experiences. Every race weekend brings something unique, so lights out and away we go!
