Australia’s Premier White Water Rafting Adventure from Cairns
Experience the thrill of white water rafting on Australia’s famous Tully River! Navigate heart-pumping rapids, soak up stunning rainforest scenery, and finish the day with a classic country pub dinner — an adventure you’ll never forget.
Our guide to Tully River Rafting
Get ready for nonstop action on Australia’s premier white water rafting river! Your adventure begins with a midday pick-up from central Cairns accommodation, followed by a scenic drive to Tully. On arrival, enjoy an optional light lunch (own expense) before heading 40 minutes into the breathtaking Tully Gorge, where the real excitement begins.
Meet your experienced River Guide and fellow paddlers, get fitted with your helmet and life jacket and take part in a comprehensive safety briefing and paddling tutorial. Warm up on a few small rapids before tackling the adrenaline-pumping Grade 3 and 4 rapids that make the Tully River famous. With your guide’s instructions — “paddle forward”, “get down”, and “hang on!” — you’ll feel the rush as the river twists and turns.
Between the thrilling rapids, there are calmer sections where you can catch your breath and soak in the stunning rainforest scenery, before hitting the next surge of white water.
After an unforgettable day on the river, change into dry clothes and head to the Feluga Hotel for a classic country pub dinner. Swap stories with fellow paddlers over a cold drink, surrounded by the living history of Raging Thunder Rafting. Finally, relax on the bus as you’re returned to your accommodation, arriving around 7:30 PM.
