Our guide to Madrid Hop-on Hop Off Double-Decker Bus Tour

Enjoy views of Madrid from the top of an open-air bus whilst listening to the onboard audio commentary - the Madrid Vision bus tour combines two routes around the city stopping at over 30 attractions along the routes.

You can hop on and off the buses as often as you please, enabling you to explore the attractions at your own pace before boarding the next bus to continue with your tour.

This is a great way to see all the best known and best-loved sights Madrid has to offer and the two routes are interconnected so you can easily cross from one to another.

Blue Route (full loop - approx 90 minutes)

This route focuses on the historical part of Madrid. This itinerary offers a comprehensive exploration of the city's rich heritage, encompassing historical, artistic, and monumental highlights. Wander along the enchanting Paseo del Prado or marvel at the splendid buildings that stand as legacies of the Habsburg era. Immerse yourself in the cultural hub of the Golden Triangle of Art and delve into the depths of its world-class museums. From the regal splendour of the Royal Palace to the serene allure of the Temple of Debod, take a moment to begin and savour the breathtaking views overlooking the city.

  • Blue Route stops: Museo del Prado, Puerta de Alcalá, Barrio de Salamanca, Plaza de Colón, Plaza de Cibeles, Gran Via, Plaza de España, Templo de Debod, Puerta de San Vicente, Puerta de Toledo, Gran Vía de San Francisco, Colegiata/Mayor, Atocha, Jardín Botánico and Museo del Prado. 

Green Route (full loop - approx 70 minutes)

This route focuses on the modern part of Madrid which saw huge expansion in the 19th century. Venture beyond the well-known historical landmarks and royal monuments, from Atocha to Nuevos Ministerios and from the iconic Puerta de Alcalá to Puerta del Sol. Marvel at the striking contemporary architecture that defines the Spanish capital. This itinerary will lead you to the impressive KIO towers, the Museum of Public Art, and the renowned Real Madrid stadium. Dive into the vibrant life, art, and emerging traditions of the city's inhabitants as you follow this captivating route.

  • Green Route stops: Plaza Neptuno, Plaza de Cibeles, Plaza de Colón, Museo Esculturas, Museo de Ciencias Naturales, Nuevos Ministerios, Santiago Bernabéu, C.S.I. Científicas, Museo Lázaro Galdiano, Serrano, Museo Arqueológico, Puerta de Alcalá, Alcalá, Puerta del Sol, Plaza de las Cortes and Plaza de Neptuno.


Madrid Walking Tour

Enjoy a 2-hour walking tour through Madrid and the tour runs daily at 11 am from Madrid city center. More information is available on board the bus.

  • The buses run every 30 to 40 minutes depending on the season, ensuring you never have long to wait for the next bus to come along.
  • The blue route departs and ends at Prado Museum and the green route starts and ends at Plaza Neptuno. 
  • You can begin your hop-on hop-off tour at any of the Madrid City Tour stops by showing your voucher when getting on board.
  • Madrid City Tours busses are wheelchair accessible with an access ramp at the back door.
  • The walking tour runs daily in monolingual English and Spanish. You will find a QR on board with detailed information. 
  • Entrance fees to attractions are not included. 
  • Some of the stops of the Historical Madrid Route are suspended due to the pedestrianization of Puerta del Sol, alternative routes will be offered.
  • Please note that the itinerary is subject to change due to the events to be celebrated in the city (demonstrations, sports events, cultural events, official acts and public works).
  • Cancellation Policy: Free cancellations for bookings cancelled with the supplier 72 hours prior to the tour date. No refunds are given for cancellations made within 72 hours.
