Kennedy Space Center Cape Canaveral
Calling all space history enthusiasts!
Learn more about the historic Cape Canaveral in this new Special Interest Tour at Kennedy Space Center.

Kennedy Space Center is offering another unique tour to their list of experiences, this time enabling guests access to restricted and historic areas of Cape Canaveral Air Force Station with their Cape Canaveral’s Rise to Space Tour.

Learn more about the United States Air Force and America’s early space program during this tour, see historic launch sites, tour the Sand Space History Center, visit the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse and explore Hangar C with your very own space expert, who will be your guide throughout the experience.

Over the course of roughly 4.5 hours, you will visit the following:

  • Travel to the Sands Space History Center for a docent-led tour.
  • Tour through Hangar C with a space expert guide, who will answer all your questions. Fact - Hangar C is the first permanent and oldest surviving structure at the Cape built and used to missile assembly. Inside, you’ll see artifacts like -
    - Atlas, America’s first intercontinental ballistic missile
    - The only known Firebird missile still in existence
    - Early space artifacts like Gemini and Apollo “boiler plates”, using during simulations for training
  • Visit the cape Canaveral Lighthouse where docents are available to answer questions
  • Stop at Pad 14 Blockhouse to take photos and see inside
  • Drive by Pad 34, the historic site of Apollo 1

Finally, the tour ends by returning to you to the visitor complex.

Snacks and water provided, due to the length of the tour, however guests are encouraged to eat prior to the start of the tour. You must also register with visitor complex security officers between 9am - 10am on the day of the tour, due to the restricted access at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
