5 Free Apps You Need to Download Before Your Orlando Holiday
The best FREE Orlando apps
If you’re going on holiday to Orlando, these handy theme park apps will make your planning hassle-free…

1. My Disney Experience App

My Disney Experience App

The My Disney Experience app is essential for anyone visiting Walt Disney World. It’s free to download, easy to use and makes planning your holiday hassle-free. You’ll be able to make day-by-day plans, including dining reservations, FastPass+ selections for the rides and even reserve magical character meet and greet experiences. With all of your reservations in one place, it’s easy to keep track of your plans and the free Wi-Fi at the Disney parks, means that if you need to make any changes to your itinerary, you’re just a few clicks away.

The app has all the information you need for a day at the parks, including opening hours, show times, live wait times for the rides, and GPS enabled maps, so you’ll never get lost! One of the newest features of the My Disney Experience app is a food ordering service, where you can choose which meal you'd like at select restaurants across the Disney parks and by the time you’re ready, your meal will be waiting for you. You’ll even be able to view all of the amazing photos you’ve taken with your favourite characters on the app, using Disney’s PhotoPass.

2. Universal Orlando Resort App

Universal Orlando Resort App

The Universal Orlando Resort app has everything you need to know when visiting the Universal parks. You’ll be able to discover your favourite rides before you even arrive, by using filters to see which attractions suit you best. When you’re in the parks, make the most of the handy wait time function, which lets you know (in real time), how long the wait is for the park’s top attractions. You can even set up alerts for when queuing time reaches 5 minutes, so you can avoid waiting in long lines and go straight to the attraction when it has the shortest queue. Alerts can also be set for Universal’s incredible shows, so you won’t miss a second of the action.

One of our favourite things about the app, is that it lets you book virtual line passes. This means that you can secure your place in line for your ride of choice, and then carry on exploring the rest of the park until it’s your turn to ride.

3. SeaWorld Discovery App

Want to know everything there is to know about SeaWorld? Then you need to download this free app. This handy pocket guide will enhance your experience at the park and give you access to exclusive offers too! The interactive map will help you to navigate your way around the park, with highlighted paths making it easy to find your destination. You’ll also be able to find out the live wait times for all the rides and attractions, which is a good way to beat the queues.

SeaWorld Discovery App

The app has lots of information about the amazing animals you can find in the park. Once you’ve found out where to locate them, you’ll be able to learn all about their behaviour, conservation status and much more.

We love the inn-app camera too! It lets you take pictures with fun photo frames, without having to leave the app. Ever found yourself wondering where you’ve parked the car after a long day? Don’t worry, the app has you covered, with its amazing car finder feature!

4. WeatherPro

WeatherPro app

Everyone has their fingers crossed for good weather when they’re on holiday, but the weather in Florida can be quite unpredictable. That’s why it’s a good idea to download a weather app to keep you updated during your holiday.

WeatherPro includes 7-day forecasts and reports for over 2 million locations worldwide- including Florida. You’ll be able to access weather reports in periods of 3 hours, up to 3 days ahead. Weather its sun cream or a poncho, checking the weather in advance means you’ll know exactly what to pack for a day at the parks. Fingers crossed for bright sunshine!

5. Random Ride Picker

If you fancy a bit of fun, this app is perfect. The Random Ride Picker does exactly what you’d think it does- chooses a ride at random for you to try. It’s great for people who have been to the Orlando parks several times before, or those who are feeling a bit apprehensive about taking the plunge and need a little push in the right direction.

Orlando roller coasters

The app can be used at over 70 different theme parks around the world, including all the top Orlando parks, like Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. You can also enjoy the app when you’re back at home, at theme parks like Chessington World of Adventures, Thorpe Park and Alton Towers.

If you’re up for a challenge, let the ride picker decide for you, but be prepared… you could end up on one of the scariest rides in Orlando!
