Jurassic World, Despicable Me, and more!
A stay in one of these hotel suites will keep you immersed in the fun of Universal Orlando Resort long after the parks have closed.

You probably already know that Universal Orlando Resort has eight onsite hotels - with three more opening in 2025 - allowing you to stay directly in the heart of the action. But did you know that many of these hotels have themed family suites?

Whether you’re visiting with kids or you’re a big kid yourself, staying in a themed hotel room is the perfect way to make your Orlando holiday even more special. These Universal Orlando Resort themed hotel rooms seamlessly connect your theme park experience to your hotel stay, meaning you never have to leave the fun behind.

1. Jurassic World Kids’ Suite

Where? Loews Royal Pacific Resort

This is the perfect room choice if you’ve got little explorers or dinosaur fanatics in your group. The Jurassic World kids’ suite at Loews Royal Pacific Resort is themed on the blockbuster movie franchise and has lots of details that you’ll recognise from the big screen.

The suit has two separate bedrooms; one for the grown-ups and one for the kids, connected by an adjoining door designed to look like the dinosaur enclosure in the movie (perfect for keeping those wild things contained!). The adult’s bedroom has a sleek and modern design, but once you step inside the kids’ room, you’ll feel like you’re walking onto the island of Isla Nublar from Jurassic World. The floor is covered with huge dinosaur footprints and the walls have dinosaur-inspired artwork. But the best bit has to be the incredible gyrosphere beds!

2. Despicable Me Kids’ Suite

Where? Loews Portofino Bay Hotel

If you weren’t already in the kids’ good books simply for bringing them on an amazing theme park holiday in Orlando, you definitely will be after booking the Minions-themed suite at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel. These colourful suites bring the magic of the Minions and Despicable Me franchises to life, and are designed to capture the excitement and playfulness of Gru’s laboratory.

This is another suite that has two adjoining rooms; a spacious and sophisticated room for the adults and a fun, colourful room for the kids. You’ll see hundreds of mischievous Minions gazing up at you from the walls and curtains, and little ones will even get to sleep in a missile-shaped bed, just like Edith, Margo and Agnes!

3. How To Train Your Dragon Kids’ Suites

Where? Universal Helios Grand Hotel, a Loews Hotel

Universal Helios Grand Hotel is one of the brand-new hotels opening at Universal Orlando Resort in 2025 (on 22nd May 2025 to be exact), as part of the resort’s expansion to include Universal Epic Universe. The majority of the rooms will have a vibrant, Mediterranean garden-inspired design, but if you’re staying with kids you’ll definitely want to consider one of the How To Train Your Dragon themed suites.

The kids’ room, separated from the sophisticated adults’ room by an adjoining seating area, will transport you straight to Berk, the Viking village Hiccup and his family inhabit in the film franchise. There really couldn’t be a better place to rest your head for the night before a day riding Wing Gliders, Dragon Racer’s Rally, and all the other rides in How To Train Your Dragon - Isle of Berk, one of the new lands in Universal Epic Universe.

4. Future Rock Star Kids’ Suite

Where? Hard Rock Hotel

The Future Rock Star Suite is another room at Universal’s Hard Rock Hotel. This is the perfect place for any aspiring rockers and pop stars because there’s an actual stage in the room! That’s right, little ones can stand in front of their adoring crowd (a.k.a. their siblings) before dreaming of superstardom as they sleep under a starry sky. They’ll also have their own TV, featuring a channel that will give them guitar lessons, and a celebrity height chart so you can discover which star you match up to.

But one of our favourite things about the Future Rock Star Suite has to be the incredible memorabilia from world-famous artists adorning the walls.

Grown-ups are banished beyond the stage door, as the kids room is for “artists only”, but don’t worry; the luxurious adults’ room offers a super relaxing stay… Although we’d rather be at the concert next door!

5. Volcano Side Rooms

Where? Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort

This room isn’t exactly themed, but we just had to include it on our list because we love how the theming from the nearby Volcano Bay infiltrates the room. That’s right; Universal’s amazing water theme park Volcano Bay is right next door, and these special rooms give you a picture-perfect view of the 200-foot-tall Krakatau Volcano! By day, admire the spectacular volcano beneath the bright blue Orlando sky and at night watch in awe as it erupts with bubbling red lava.

The bright, colourful rooms match the tropical theming of Volcano Bay perfectly, and the convenience of being right on the park’s doorstep means you can be one of the first to get on the amazing water slides. While some of these rooms are just standard rooms, there are 2-bedroom suites available too, perfect for families who want some extra space or multi-generational groups who need a bit more privacy.
