With a Double Decker Tour Ticket you can hop-on and hop-off the buses at any of the stops throughout Rome, giving you the freedom and flexibility to explore, sightsee or visit attractions before boarding the next bus to continue your tour. Your ticket is valid for 24 or 48 hours and includes two routes.

    Skip the line Vatican Museums

    The Vatican Museums Skip the Line ticket gets you past long lines at the Vatican Museums, so you spend more time exploring the world’s most incredible art collection and less time waiting outside. The ticket can be used any time from 9.00am to 3.00pm. Visit all the highlights of the Vatican Museums – from the Sistine Chapel to lesser-known gems of the collection. You will see the Hall of Maps, the Pinecone Courtyard, the Gallery of Tapestries, the Gallery of Candelabra and the incredible Raphael Rooms.

    The undouted highlight is a visit to the Sistine Chapel. Take some time inside this world-famous room to pick out the details you heard about – Michelangelo’s boneless self-portrait for example, in which he expresses to the world that he would rather be skinned alive than paint the Sistine Chapel again.

    • You will be issued with an open-dated ticket voucher which can be redeemed at anytime on your visit to Rome. This can be exchanged onboard the bus, directly with the driver. Please make sure you board a City Sightseeing Bus at an official City Sightseeing stop.
    • Upon redemption, you will receive your 24 or 48-hour Hop-on Hop-off Bus ticket and skip-the-line Vatican Museum ticket.
    • Once your voucher has been exchanged, your Hop-on, Hop-off pass validity begins from that point.
    • The skip-the-line Vatican Museum tickets can only be used on any date between 9.00 am and 3.00 pm. It does not have to be used within the 48-hour bus ticket validity.
    • The skip-the-line Vatican Museum ticket enables you to bypass the main ticket purchase line. However, you may still have to queue to get into the Vatican Museums at busy times, but your queuing time will be significantly reduced.
    • Entrance into the Vatican is subject to a strict dress code. Shoulders and knees must be covered. No low-cut or sleeveless tops or shorts will be not permitted for men and women. Clients that do not adhere to the dress code will not be permitted to enter the Vatican.
    • Large handbags and rucksacks are not permitted inside the Vatican Museums. We recommend not taking a large bag on your visit to the Vatican.
    • Certain stops and sections of the Hop-on Hop-off bus tour may occasionally be subject to last-minute changes and closures. 
    • Free admission for children from 0 to 5 years.
    • Please note that it is now a requirement to wear an FFP2 mask onboard, please ensure you have this to travel on the bus.
    • Cancellation policy: Free cancellation until 1 day before the tour; 100% charged for cancellations effectuated 1 day before the tour.

    How do I redeem my voucher? 

    You must exchange your printed paper version of your booking voucher (showing your voucher on a smartphone is not accepted) onboard the bus, directly with the driver. Please make sure you board a City Sightseeing Bus at an official City Sightseeing stop.

    What does 'Hop On Hop Off mean? 
    The 'Hop On Hop Off' formula allows passengers to get on and off the bus at their own leisure, whenever and wherever they want at any stop along the route.

    When does the ticket become valid?
    The ticket becomes valid immediately after your voucher has been redeemed.

    How long is the hop-on, hop-off pass valid for?
    Your hop-on, hop-off pass is valid for 24 or 48-hours and expires exactly 24 or 48 hours after the voucher has been redeemed.

    How do the skip-the-line Vatican Museum segments work?
    After redeeming your voucher, you will be given a booklet plus passes to the above attraction. You can exchange this pass for official skip-the-line tickets at the attraction itself and then join the skip-the-line queue. The skip-the-line ticket can be used on ANY DAY and doesn't need to be activated within the 24 or 48-hour bus ticket.
