Disney® Hotels vs off-site hotels – what is the difference?

When you start to research accommodation options for your trip to Paris, you’ll notice that there are two categories of hotels to choose from: Disney® Hotels and off-site hotels. There are a few key differences between the two.

Disney® Hotels are those which are owned and/or managed by Disney. Most of these are on-site at Disneyland® Paris (except for Les Villages Nature® Paris) and come with a whole host of Disney benefits.

Disneyland® Paris Area Hotels, also known as off-site hotels, are situated further away from the parks. They’re usually still relatively close to the theme parks and tend to offer less expensive accommodation than the on-site hotels.

Facilities and amenities

Again, this will depend on how much time you plan to spend in your hotel. On the one hand, it’s sometimes nice to have a bit of downtime at your resort to relax, on the other hand, there’s so much to see in the theme parks!

All the hotels have fantastic facilities, but these do vary. Some of the lower-cost hotels are more no-frills, whereas some have spa facilities, fitness centres, and play areas. If a swimming pool is essential for your trip, we’ve listed the hotels with pools below.

Who is travelling?

Different hotels will suit different types of travellers. There are some that the kids will adore and some that are just perfect for adults on honeymoon.

If you’re travelling as a multi-generational family or with someone with additional needs, you might also need to consider factors such as whether the accommodation is accessible to all.

Here are some of our suggestions:

Theming

Once you’ve narrowed your choice down to one of the categories, it’s time to whittle the hotels down to your final decision, and this is where theming comes into the mix. Have a good look at the photographs of each hotel to see which one will appeal the most to you and your family.

The Disney® Hotels all have immersive theming, so it’s just down to what appeals to you the most. Whether you’ve got a favourite Disney movie or Character, there’s a Disney® Hotel for everyone.

The off-site hotels don’t have Disney theming, but they may follow certain themes in terms of décor. For example, Grand Magic Hotel Marne la Vallée has a whimsical theme throughout and the Radisson Blu Hotel Paris, Marne-la-Vallee, looks like a French chateau from the outside.

Now you have all the information you need, it’s time to start planning. Book your hotel for your trip to Disneyland® Paris now, and let the magic begin!
