Alton Towers Theme Park opens for the 2021 season on 12 April and will be open daily until 7 November 2021. Alton Towers opens at 10.00am with closing times varying through the year.

  • To help control capacity, all guests must pre-book a date for their visit to Alton Towers.
  • Your Alton Towers Ticket is only valid for the date selected at the time of booking and cannot be used on any other date.
  • Guests will be required to wear a suitable secured face mask/covering in order to go on a number of rides at Alton Towers. All guests must bring a mask/covering with them when visiting Alton Towers.
  • Children aged 2 years and below go free.
  • No more than THREE infant tickets (0-2 years) can be purchased in one transaction.
  • Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Alton Towers One Day Ticket excludes entrance to the Alton Towers Dungeon and special ticketed events such as Halloween and Fireworks days.
  • *If it rains continuously for more than an hour during your visit to Alton Towers Theme Park, you can return for FREE on a like-for-like visit. If you visited the Theme Park on a Rainy Day (as determined by Alton Towers) and have retained your original ticket, you can pre-book a free reservation for a new date.

Alton Towers closes rides to renovate them and keep them up to date. They may also need to close rides due to health and safety or general up keep throughout the year.

Are there lockers available at Alton Towers Resort?

Yes, there are lockers for any loose items as these cannot be taken on the rides. Small Lockers are from £1 per hour or £5 per day and large Lockers are from £2 per hour or £10 per day. You can revisit the locker throughout the day at no additional charge.

Can Alton Towers tickets be scanned from a phone?

Alton Towers is based on Farley Lane, Alton, Stoke-on-Trent ST10 4DB in Staffordshire. You can travel by car, by the X41bus daily from Stafford & Uttoxeter or via train. The closest stations are Uttoxeter or Stoke-On-Trent although you will need to book a taxi from the station.

Do babies or infants require a ticket to get into Alton Towers Theme Park?

Infants under the age of 3 years can enter free of charge, but still require a ticket. Simply add an infant ticket(s) to your Alton Towers Booking when purchasing your Alton Towers Tickets.
