Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park Guide

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is the ultimate place to ‘chill’ in Orlando. Whether you’re sticking to the bunny slopes or hitting the black diamonds, use your Walt Disney World Resort tickets to enjoy the coolest water park of them all!

STARTING MAY 1ST 2025, DISNEY'S BLIZZARD BEACH WATER PARK WILL BE TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE UNTIL MAY 21ST. IF YOU ARE VISITING AFTER THIS TIME YOU CAN ENJOY DISNEY'S TYPHOON LAGOON WATER PARK INSTEAD.

What is Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park?

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park opened at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida in 1995, to ease some of the load at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, and almost 30 years on it still reaps rave reviews for having one of the best family raft rides in Orlando! Themed as a ski resort turned water park, created after a freak blizzard hit the Sunshine State, this snowy setting also has a body slide so tall you can see it from the streets surrounding the park.

In keeping with the ski resort theme, Blizzard Beach’s slides are divided into Green, Red and Purple runs depending on the thrill factor, but you’ll want to swap your sallopettes with your swimming costume as here you will find inviting waters of about 21ºC... now that's our kind of skiing holiday!

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park tickets are included in the cost of your Walt Disney World Resort tickets and select Orlando Combination ticket packages (subject to seasonal closures*), so you can enjoy some fun in the sun (and the snow) as many times as you like for up to 14 days!

What should you bring to Disney’s Blizzard Beach?

  • Towels - It goes without saying that you’ll need some towels when spending the day at a waterpark, whether it’s to lay down on a sun lounger or to dry off after making a splash on the rides! Don’t worry if you forget to bring them though, as the Disney Water Parks have towel rentals available for $2 for the day.
  • Sunscreen - All of the attractions at Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park are outdoors, including the queuing areas, so you’ll want to make sure you have plenty of sunscreen to reapply throughout the day.
  • Water - There are some great restaurants and snack stands in the water park that will provide free tap water, but it’s best to always have some to hand to keep yourself hydrated.

If you want to bring anything that you don’t need to have with you during the day, such as big bags or electronic devices, there are lockers available to rent for the day, starting at $10.

What should you wear to Blizzard Beach?

At the Disney Water Parks, swim attire must be suitable for a family environment and shouldn’t have buckles, rivets, zippers, exposed metal and other sharp objects, as these are not allowed on the attractions for safety reasons. Jeans and wetsuits are also not allowed on certain attractions, including Slush Gusher and Summit Plummet.

If you are visiting with infants, they must wear plastic pants or swim diapers in the pool areas. Complimentary life jackets are also available to rent for less confident swimmers.

We would also recommend bringing hats and light t-shirts to wear when you’re not on the rides as these will help to avoid any nasty sunburn.
