The Best Character Dining Experiences in Orlando
7 unforgettable character dining experiences!
Make your holiday even more magical with an amazing character dining experience! Here’s our favourites…

Universal’s Superstar Character Breakfast:

Universal Character Breakfast

Fancy hanging out with some mischievous Minions? Well, Universal’s Superstar Character Breakfast is the perfect opportunity. Start the day with a fun-filled buffet breakfast at Café La Bamba in Universal Studios Florida. This means you’ll be right in the middle of the action and can enjoy a hearty breakfast before heading off to explore the park. Choose from an all-American breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes and a croissant, or go for the combo which has it all, plus two jumbo buttermilk pancakes. Look out for SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer and Gru too. You’ll also get access to an exclusive parade viewing area, so you can see your new friends appear in Universal’s famous Superstar Parade!

Where? Universal Studios Florida

Cinderella’s Royal Table:

If you want to meet Disney royalty, this is the place to go! You’ll be surrounded by Disney princesses while you enjoy a delicious meal inside Cinderella’s castle. It’s a great chance to experience an up-close encounter with some of your favourite characters, as you’ll get time to get autographs and snap selfies with Belle, Princess Aurora, Snow White, Ariel, Rapunzel and of course your hostess- Cinderella.

Cinderella's Royal Table at Walt Disney World

This is one of the pricier character dining experiences, but we think that the beautiful setting, delicious food and amazing character encounters make it worth every dollar. We’d suggest coming for dinner, where you can feast on beef tenderloin, pan-seared chicken and fresh fish. The themed desserts are our favourite though. Try the Jac & Gus- a whipped cheesecake with strawberries and meringue, or the Clock Strikes Twelve- a rich, velvety chocolate mousse served with raspberry coulis.

Where? Magic Kingdom

Chef Mickey’s:

Chef Mickey's at Walt Disney World

Make sure you’ve got your autograph book at the ready, as you’ll be meeting some of Disney’s most famous characters. Chef Mickey is your host and he’s invited the rest of the gang along too. As you dine, Minnie, Pluto, Donald and Goofy are guaranteed to put a smile on your face as they break into song and dance. A big breakfast is the best way to start the day and ensure you’ll have plenty of energy for exploring the theme parks later. Breakfast is an all-you-can-eat buffet of smoked salmon, pancakes, bacon, sausages, eggs, muffins and pastries, while dinner includes chicken, mussels, shrimp, pasta and barbecue pork ribs.

Tiana’s Riverboat Party:

Tiana's Riverboat Party

If you’re looking for something a bit different, Tiana’s Riverboat Party is the perfect choice. Join your hosts- the beautiful Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen, for an unforgettable riverboat party onboard the regal Liberty Square Riverboat. This is a great character dining experience for anyone with a serious sweet tooth, as this party is all about ice cream! Pick an ice cream from flavours like strawberry, chocolate and vanilla, and cover your selection in as many tasty toppings as you like.

There’s also frozen chocolate bananas, cotton candy, popcorn and delicious Princess and the Frog-themed cupcakes. One of our favourite parts of this adventure, is that the boat stops to give you a perfect view of the Magic Kingdom’s Festival of Fantasy Parade. Make sure you bring your camera as there are plenty of great photo opportunities that you won’t want to miss!

Hollywood & Vine:

Hollywood and Vine Walt Disney World

There are two different character dining experiences you can enjoy at Hollywood & Vine. Little ones are more likely to love the Disney Junior Play ‘n Dine, which includes appearances from the likes of Doc McStuffins, Sofia the First and Jake and the Never Land Pirates. We’d recommend coming here for breakfast, where you can fill yourself up with Mickey waffles, made-to-order omelettes and delicious pastries.

In the evenings, Minnie Mouse hosts her very own dinner parties. You won’t be the only guests though, as Mickey, Donald, Daisy and Goofy have all been invited! The party themes change throughout the year, from Minnie’s Summertime Dine, to Halloween and Christmas parties. There’s a mouth-watering menu of seasonal dishes to enjoy too.

Where? Disney's Hollywood Studios

The Crystal Palace:

Crystal Palace Walt Disney World

Inspired by Victorian greenhouses of the late 1800s, this stunning eatery is picture perfect. The Floridian sunshine streams through the windows lighting up a dining room filled with gorgeous flowers, topiaries and tropical palms. Whether you come here for breakfast, lunch or dinner, you can expect some surprise guests from the Hundred-Acre Wood to join your table. This is a great choice for families and little ones who love Winnie the Pooh, as Piglet, Tigger, Eeyore and of course Winnie the Pooh himself, will all be there to sign autographs and take photos. For breakfast enjoy pancakes, waffles and freshly baked pastries, and for dinner try a selection of roasted carved meats with salad, vegetables and some delectable desserts.

Where? Magic Kingdom

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall:

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall Walt Disney World

This is another character dining experience where you’re guaranteed to meet the Disney princesses. Snow White, Cinderella, Belle, Princess Aurora and Ariel will be happy to sign autographs and take photos with guests. Set in a medieval castle with soaring archways and regal décor you really will feel like a princess (or prince) yourself. Even though you’ll be able to meet the princesses, both the atmosphere and food here are completely different to Cinderella’s Royal Table. You can start the day here with an American breakfast, or try traditional Norwegian cuisine at lunch and dinner. Our favourite dish has to be Kjøttkake- Norwegian meatballs served with mashed potatoes, vegetables and Lingonberry sauce.

Where? Epcot

Top tip- Character dining experiences are extremely popular, so it’s really important to book early if you want to avoid disappointment. Disney take dining reservations up to 180 days in advance and the slots get snapped up quickly. So, if you’ve got a restaurant in mind, make sure you don’t miss out.
